ust v2 reg/stiff?

about to pull the trigger, but fitter didn't help too much
after my fitting i learned that my swing speed varies from 90-105. i plan on getting the ust v2 65, but he said it was my decision regarding flex. my current stock mas2 65 is a stiff and plays fine outside of it's dead feel. ive come to learn the v2 is mid launch/mid spin, how does this compare to the mas2? does the v2 play stiffer than the mas2? i've also heard taking out the mas2 causes the r7 to play to a lower trajectory then it did originally, any truth to this? any help would be greatly appreciated so i can finally pull the trigger on something i've been putting off for a while.

I think You should go see another clubfitter, one that helps You decide and guiding You in the right direction.

I might be very likely that the V2 doesn't fit You at all... :idhitit:

Good luck

It looks like you are reshafting the same driver that I just did. I bought my 8.5* R7 last spring with a stiff NV-75 shaft installed. I was able to keep it in the fairway, but was only able to hit it 5-10 yards further than my 3W. I worked with a clubfitter and we narrowed it down to 2 shafts. My swingspeed was typically 98-102. The shaft that produced the best results for me was the HTD 7250 and the second best shaft was the V2 65. I had a stiff V2 65 installed in my R7 and I have easily gained 15-20 of carry by making the switch which is not only due to the shaft being a little more flexable, but with it being a little lighter I have gained a couple of MPH on my swingspeed.

BUT, I am now less accurate. I have only played with the new setup once, but that one round I only hit 4 fairways whereas the round before making the change on the same course I hit 11. My misses were usually only a yard or two off the fairway, but it was still a miss. I'm sure with some more time working with this club I will straighten it out, but I have heard it here before and I thik this is a prime example...

"Go with the most flexable shaft that you can still control."

Like I said, I am very happy with the V2 65 shaft compared to the NV-75. The HTD 7250 is an entirely different story.

I don't to hijack this thred, but the HTD 7250 gave me the best consistancy out of the 15 shafts that I hit that day. Very tight, great trajectory and excellent numbers on the LM. The shaft was installed in a Ping G2 head and I hit it so well I went out and found a used head and had the shaft installed.

I am now comparing the R7 with V2 in stiff and the G2 with 7250 in stiff. I went in to reshaft my R7 to increase my numbers and believe that I have changed to a new setup altogether. Still testing though and time will tell.
