Decrease sway and Decrease across the line

I'm having some issues with my swing. I'm fairly succesful with my swing, but I think I need to fix some problems to find some more consistency. I'm looking for some drills to help me stop swaying off the ball into my right side. Also, at the top of my back swing, the club points across the line which i think makes me come from the outside into impact.

Any help, advice, or drills would be greatly appreciated.

The best advice i've heard to stop swaying off the ball (and it does work) is to keep your right knee as solid as you can and keep all of the weight on the INSIDE of your right foot on your backswing. You'll feel like you've got a really solid base and it'll allow you to properly drive throught the ball on your downswing.

 

As far as the club pointing across the line goes it's a bit trickier. It could be an alignment problem or you may just need to take the club back a little more inside. I'd need to see your setup and swing but if you record it you should be able to work it out for yourself.

Easy Tiger. You really laid in to those shots mate.

 

You've got good rhthym and seemingly good balance but you've got to go back to basics. Read any decent book on the swing and the first thing it'll teach you is the fundamentals. It's always best to get a lesson but if you can't there's a few immediate things to work on.

 

Grip. It's difficult for me to explain what to do but there must be a link somewhere that tells you how to create a good grip. It's by far the most important thing and at the moment it's just too strong.

 

Get your feet shoulder width apart, you're stance is too wide and it's restricting your hip turn on your backswing, your arms are taking over and that's why the club is where it is at the top.

 

Try and work on getting a nice weight shift from the inside of you're right foot on the backswing to the outside of the left foot on the follow through. Try and keep your left foot in the same position all through the swing. At the moment it's pointing directly at the target after impact and this will cause all sorts of problems.

 

Watch some of the pro's and compare. It's mainly you're lower half that needs work immediately so if you can find a video of someone like Luke Donald's swing that'd be perfect.

 

Hit some 3 quarter shots working on these things and you'll start to build a great swing mate.
