Questions about old MacGregor wedges

Does anyone know what time period the MacGegor Great Scot wedges were produced, and also what the club name/codes, i.e. MP8, MD7, etc. mean?

 

There was also a Great Scot model that had a copper face and a bit of a "fin" like section on the back. Did this come out after the original, or part of the same release?

 

Also, does anyone know what time period MacGregor was using a logo that appeared as a "club" (like from a deck of cards, with an "M" in the middle of it?

I saw the clubs your referring to on ebay.

I have an old book put out by Ralph Maltby Called "the Golf Club Identification and Price Guide". I can't find the Great Scot model listed from 1953 to 1984. So I have to assume these were made after 1984 when Nicklaus bought the company. Maybe someone here has a newer edition.

Thanks for the reply. I've already received the "All Purpose Wedge" with the "club logo", very wide and very flat sole. I actually put it in play yesterday. I have to say that it was money out of the sand and on chips where I didn't want any roll out. There is no loft indicated on it, but it seems to be pretty lofted. I've always had trouble getting out of green side bunkers and went three for three in getting out with that wedge yesterday, and not just out, but nice accurate shots. May seem like no big deal, but for me that's remarkable.

I also just picked up a MacGregor Jack Nicklaus "50" bronze putter with a sound slot. haven't been able to find any info on that one either. I plan on putting the Great Scot and the "50" putter in play as well.

I'm not sure why I'm picking up this vintage stuff other than I'm seeing it on ebay and it's "speaking to me", and is fairly cheap to buy. MacG was always one of my favorite companies. Maybe now that they're a house brand I'm just trying to hold on to some of the past.
