Bounce on Wedges

I have a 60 degree Vokey Spin Milled Wedge and off of tight lies my miss tends to be a chunk. I am wondering if it is my swing or is it the 4 degrees of bounce? If i go to 8 degrees will i be more successful?

With 4* of bounce it is very easy to chunk a shot if you hit it even the tiniest bit fat. The 60.04 is designed for players who sweep the ball or pick it clean consistently and for very hard/tight conditions.

 

If you are looking to switch 60 for 60, the 60.08 is probably a good choice. A 58* wedge is also an option... depending on your bag setup and course conditions it could work out better for you. What is your typical course condition like?

Wow that is low bounce. I would leave that boy in the trunk if the course is damp whatsoever. It will be your best friend if you ever move to Texas or Arizona. Very little margin for error on bounce that low. My flopper has 12*. 4* is a knife.

Hell I live in Texas and I'd be scared to make a full swing with an L wedge with 4* of bounce, although I'm sure it's a dream around the greens.

my normal course conditions are nice soft fairways and i have no problem with it there..but i went to a touranment in march for high school in myrtle beach and i probably cost myself 12 shots the first day around the greens but i switch to my 56.14 sand wedge and was much more successful the next few days.
