Late Model MacGregor Jack Nicklaus Tour

What do I have?

I saw this in my travels and left it in the bin...............somehow it found its way to my car, russian.
I am not an expert on the later model MacGregor stuff, but I know that this is about the best place to find such an expert.
The laser engraved lettering caught me off guard and I thought it was at least worth finding out just what it meant.
Any information on this one would be greatly appreciated.

This is a mid 1980s MacGregor Nicklaus Model persimmon, not sure the exact year, probably around 1987 thru 89 I would guess, when I get a chance I'll check my Kaplan Book. I think in a span of 3 or 4 years Mac used this head in a few of their models, including a T945. I've seen a ton of these on ebay over the years, your needs a little TLC, but still a nice looking vintage persimmon, but nothing rare or highly collectable. You seem to look in a lot of used barrel bins, if you ever find any Wood Bros persimmons, let us know. LOL.

Thanks for that information. I knew it was pretty much too late of a model to have big value, but you just never know.
You are correct in that I do see my share of used club bins in my travels. I have tried, several times to quit persimmon, cold turkey. As you see.......I have had little success.
Funny, but the "one that got away" from me, was not even a MacGregor or Woods Bros. or such, but a Wilson Staff. I have no idea on the vintage, but the grain was beautiful, the condition was good, but needing new finish. The head was HUGE for a persimmon driver, probably at least the size of a George Bayer or such. It went away with a large group of clubs that left the shop in a batch sale for $50. I needed the space, and the $50 came in handy, at the time.
I'll keep you in mind if the Woods Bros. should ever cross my path.
I have a sweet little Hiro Honma in the garage that might be the next project sent out.
