Well, since it's alive again.... (yes , post pics of the wooden backed one - sounds interesting)

 

here's some pics of my #17 - taken with the original shaft. Since then reshafted with a black stepped KBS Xstiff and tipped until it sits flush with hosel, and made extras short length with a leather Mills (Gripmaster) grip.

 

Been using it again, after success with an ugly but efficient Backstryke Sabretooth (!) - took it bakc out for fun, and now love it again. The straight lines make it surprisingly easy to aim, and somehow I pay more attention to how the stroke and impact feels and so gradually have improved my feel and putting with it. The beaten up dings and faded site oval make it less distracting too...

 

May hunt down a #12 and #5 now...

I have a Tpm 12 that I polished up and did the paintfill on. I have the Winn grip with the martini glass on it an d is feels fantastic.

I have a TMP 12 in my garage. Found it in my mom's golf bag, It still has the original grip but is cracked and probably wont last. I really want to regrip it with a Tour Tradition and play with it tomorrow....

I picked up a TPM III a few weeks back, one of the roman numeral originals with the circle sight line but much to my chagrin it turned out to be stainless. Anyway, does anyone have a source or idea about replacement ferrules? Tried to just goop up a bunch of epoxy with a .335 and it looked like crap and then came free.

golfworks sells 2 peice ferrels that go on with out removing the shaft . work great . love the no 9 . the # 8 is actually a chipper!.

I read that the ones with roman numerals were more valuable.

The Roman Numeral collection were the first of the TP Mills Spaldings and contain some of the real classic designs. However, their value is no greater than any of the other TPM series - most can be purchased for a song on ebay. Here's the complete Roman Numeral collection:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Quick question as you seem to be the man to talk to about Spaulding TPMs. I just picked up the v and the VIII because I love the designs and want to mess around with some different finishes. The VIII is especially intriguing and Wood is such an easy medium to work with and I want to try different shapes, finishes etc. my question is where is their a resource to get the details of them, I don't really want to damage the original wood when removing but not even sure how they are secured although I have guesses. Is there some book detailing these putters as there were so many of them for so many years I have to believe there is. Any help would be appreciated thanks. Also I noticed you mentioned you're favorites and many of them are easy to find but those 2 I mentioned seem to be very rare at least searching through ebay, is this true or is it just cyclical? I've searched history and only seen a very few of the VIII and almost none of the V over the last year. Also have the TP Mill Mizuno Workshop #IV and it seems harder to find than the others I know the series. I'd be curious how the value is affected if it is the case these are harder to find.

I’m having trouble finding any info about the computer milled putters. I have one that says registered 148. All the other ones have a six digit number.  Any help would be greatly appreciated
