Wanted to ask a question for current golf GPS users:

What is it about GPS products that you like so much? I'm contemplating a yardage device this Christmas as a gift and in the past I've had insane success with Laser Range Finders. Still however I notice that there are tons of GPS users out there, all by choice I'm sure. With all of the dowloads, subscriptions and costs I'd imagine that it's kind of a headache?

For the majority of golfers GPS units are going to help improve fwy's and GIR due to the fact that most devices or programs these days allow you to map out each hole. You can map your drive to find your approach yardage, avoid hazards, and pin point flags with front/center/back yardages. They help you manage your game much like a professional caddy would. Plus the more modern devices have other features like golf range mapping, up to date reviews, news, club selection. I play a Bushnell XGC and couldn't be happier, bought it brand new for $225 and recently upgraded the firmware for free. It now has all courses included for FREE yardage readings, maps will cost you but very minimal.
