PLEASE HELP!

how would this work in a R7 460? SS 110 w driver, load the shaft late, swinger not smooth transition.

Better than the Rombax ??

too weak?? please tell me what you would recommend. Have had Zcom MW54 in the past....love the shaft but a little erratic when I went after it

I'd say you are a prime candidate for a Speeder 757 or Diamana. These are hitter's shafts. The Zcom is a gentle swinger's shaft.

 

Others to consider might be an Accuflex Evolution, or Grafalloy NT. The SC75 in Accra, perhaps.

 

Another good choice would be a Rombax.

 

The shaft in your R7 460 (unless you have already reshafted) is not the Rombax, it is the Re*Ax. This is better than the old MAS shafts they used to use, but still a bit wayward.

 

The Rombax is only available for the R7 425TP, or overseas through the Fujikura tour program. You can get a pull from eBay US for under $100.

 

The rest depends on your trajectory. The Diamana will be lowest launch with lowest spin, the 757 is mid launch with mid spin, and the Rombax is high launch with mid spin.

 

I don't swing as hard as you, so have never been able to get the most out of a Diamana (Blue S83).

 

I find the Speeder 757 better suited to more heads and more swings. I used to have one in X Flex in my R7, which should be too much for me but which produced my longest drives ever, and I've also had it in R and S in heads ranging from an R7 460 to a Callaway FT3 and always with good results.

 

It might not be my, or your, ideal shaft in terms of distance, but it won't be that far away and it is just so solid feeling. The harder you hit it, the more accurate it feels.

 

So, short of a full fitting, that would be my suggestion.

Thanks for the nice words. The post was the result of numerous replies here and elsewhere, and hundreds of dollars in experimentation.
