The next "Lady" ball??

Remember the hype surrounding the Precept Lady? Is the HX Pearl the next "Lady" ball offering great performance?

Anyone tried this for kicks or are you avoiding it while wearing your pink shirt?? :drinks:

The HX Pearl is a great ball. My wife plays 'em and I've played a few holes with them. They are not nearly as long as my HX Tours and don't spin quite as well for me. But she bombs them.

 

I think the reason why these won't get the same hype as the Precept Lady back in the day is that back then balls had a much higher compression rating than today so if you played a lower compression ball like the Lady you would get a distance benefit. That is just no longer the case since most modern balls have a lower compression to begin with.

I played a few holes with one I found, nice neough, but not nice enough to convince me to go buy some.

Absolutely NOT.

 

No.. I am playing this ball right now, and it's basically a softer version of the HX HOT with a tad bit more spin/grip to it.

 

It's a nice ball, but nothing that's going to knock you over. In all fairness, I would play this ball over the HX HOT because it is a bit softer and has better greenside control, but IMHGO, I think the Bridgeston e6 is a better ball for the same price.

 

The cover on the HX Pearl is indestructible as well.... But it's not an HX Blue. I played that ball and that thing was soft!

i like the pearl. the hx hot doesn't spin enough off the driver for me where the pearl does. agree, it is very indestructible.

Every once in a while it is fun to pull something like this out. I played the other day with a flourescent yellow pinnacle gold. Long off the tee, crap everywhere else.
