Swing suggestions

Recommended Posts

Im a 15 year old kid and as of right now I some times hit it straight and some times a slight hook or slice. This video (

) is one of those times where i hit it high and a little right of my target and when playing in Las Vegas this can be frustrating trying to hit off of desert if you don't hit the fairway.

Thanks in advance

Beautiful turn at the top! Im no pro and have several issues of my own, but to me it looks like your way under plane in the backswing and your right hand looks like it could be rolled a little over the top at address to make the "v" on your hand align with your right arm all the way up to your shoulder. Also, it looks like when you start your backswing you slightly start to hinge your wrist. Try to keep your forearms and hands straight in the backswing until about half before you start hinging. Wish I was like this at 15!

I would work on pre-swing fundamentals. As previously mentioned, your grip is too strong. Your posture is too upright - you need to get your butt out and the weight on the balls of your feet. Your feet also seemed to be aligned to the right of the target.

The alignment may just be from where the video was taken from but thanks.

[size="1"]I doubt it unless you are aiming at the browned out area - look how you keep trying to bring your right foot back. I used to have the same problem, and what happens is that when you aim too far to the right there is a tendency to snatch the club to the inside which produces a shut club face at the top - which you have.

I'd agree with the previous guys on the alignment (look at your heels and toes and make two parallel lines, they aim right of center). Grip is also strong but I can live with that.

On the start of your backswing your right elbow buckles a bit and rotates under, opening the club face. It also leads to a shallow take away and a steeper angle of approach on the downswing causing that push to the right. Try starting the swing with your hips rather than arms to minimize that elbow buckle and think about keeping your left arm close to your body on the way to the top.

Just a few things to try at the range but you are well on your way.

But I'm rocking one!
