Putting...Target, Cup, Catcher Thing!?!?

What is it called and where can I get one??

Need some help guys!!
At the London golf show this year my girlfriend and I were trying out some putters, hitting balls into a putting target, cup, thing!! If you imagine two compact discs with a small post through the centre of them, one laid flat on the ground as a base, the second parallel to it, suspended on the post, exactly a golf balls
height up, so the ball is trapped between the discs if you're on target.

I'd like to know if these are available to buy, I've searched the web trying to find them but without knowing
what they're called it's a bit difficult and I think one of these would be infinitely less annoying than the old
"grrroooaaannn, POP" of the little battery operated putting machine when my girlfriend is trying to watch tv.....it's bad enough that i walk infront of it every 5 minutes to retrieve the balls that missed the target!! ;o)....and don't laugh about me missing, our carpet is lighting with a slight left to right break!! ;o)
Seriously though if anyone knows what these things are called and/or where I can get them from the info would be greatly received.

The thing looks like a pinball bumper except it doesn't return the ball.. :)

 

Well according to its description, it 'traps' the ball and you have to retrieve it. This still doesn't fix your problem of annoying your girlfriend by walking in front of the TV every 5 minutes as you retrieve the balls in and around this thing. At least with the old 'pop' returners, you'll get a bit more satisfaction of getting more putts when you hit your target since your annoying your girlfriend anyways! :wave:

Either that or just don't putt across the TV anymore. :help:

Boomerang Putting Aid. Wether you make or miss, it returns the ball back to you.

Definitely get the boomerang. It's cheap and worth every penny. You can hit a hundred putts in 20 minutes or so standing in the same place. Great to do while watching golf.

Q: How can I practice putting past the hole on the Boomerang?

 

A: After you've trapped a ball into the target use a second ball, struck with the correct amount of force, in order to return both balls to your feet.

 

The force required to dislodge the first ball is the equivalent of putting the second ball 18-20 inches passed the hole. Any less and you risk trapping both balls in the target, any more and the putt can spin out and fail to come back all together.

 

Even though the target is enclosed you can measure your distance past the hole on your matchplay putt by noting your success in releasing your first putt.

I hope you know my comments were all in fun!

 

And the comment about production value was not so much the actual video quality, but the fact that Brian chose to position the camera right next to his bare feet (I could almost smell them) and facing his dirty laundry basket. (I think there are some dirty tighty whities on the floor!) :help: Then again maybe he didn't realize that his video would be put on the website for the world to see. :wave: (and if that is the case, it makes me like the video even more.)
