Leave the driver at home

It now looks like Tiger will be able to win some U.S. Opens again. Leave the driver at home, the amount of time he spent with it on a very long course (Medinah) should tell him he no longer needs it. Or just use it once in a while to give the field a chance when he gets too far ahead. The stats without it are startling. Maybe he should give the new Nike Ignite 450 a shot. :help:

I think its widely accepted that Tiger could compete playing left handed. He will win either way, he is that good.

Why would he leave the driver at home? Your are half right if you mean he is using it less, but he was second in driving distance this week at somethin like 311 yards, and he was very accurate with it as well. That said, he is employing a more surgical approach to course management and the results speak for themselves. Just call him Dr. Woods.

Would you care to guess how many of the drivers he hit were in the fairway???? Would you also care to guess how many times he used the driver in the tournament???? The driving distance is also an indication that he doesn't need the driver as most of that distance was achieved with a three wood.

I love the ad Tiger won with the Nike Platinum Ball and the Sasquatch driver. The most used component and the least used component. Actually won with the ball, the irons, the fairways, and the putter (guess the only putter that Nike will get in his bag anytime soon will be the putter cover).

Considering that the '08, '09 and '10 Opens are being played at Torrey Pines, Bethpage Black and Pebble Beach, respectively, I think there is a pretty good chance Tiger wins some more US Opens. He seems to have had some success at those tracks in the past.

His uncanny ability to drill his 2 iron long and accurately definitely makes him the forerunner for years to come...I predict wins in the next 5 out of 8 majors!!!

I would agree with Pebble Beach and Torrey Pines, probably not Bethpage Black (his win there was an abberation of accuracy with his driver). His history at par 70 courses isn't as good as when he has 4 par 5s to hammer.

I think it's funny that course management would make such a difference for Tiger at this point in his career. He finally sloughed off some ego and is just dissecting the courses of late.

I think it's awesome that he can put his mid irons closer to the hole than other people's short irons- Tiger and Sergio at the Open. It takes a lot of pressure off his putting when he's hitting so many fairways and greens.

I enjoy watching this Tiger more.
