LD driver for regular round of golf??

first LD driver

guys i just recently built a long drive driver it is a Team Yoshimura driver 430CC 9*. I got the most
forgiving version built up with a 47" long team Yoshimura LD 6x shaft. Yoshimura is from japan and they
have been champion 3 years in a row in the Japan long drive circuit.

anyway to cut the story short, i was wondering if you guys take your LD drivers out with you for a regular
round of golf etc etc. this is my first LD and have never hit one before. my only issue could be getting used
to the length. just wondering guys thanks. i will game it for the first time this weekend and will not be
bringing my "normal" driver

I used my LD driver for play. Funny thing was, once I got used to it, I hit it straighter than my playing club.

Is 6X the shaft flex? The best LD guys in the world don't use more than a 3X flex, they may tip it an inch, but still doesn't come close to a 6 X. Do you know the CPM's on the shaft? Also, 9* is a lot of loft for a LD club, most use anywhere from 5 to 6.5 *. Joe Miller used 3.3* last year to win Remax World LD title. Do you compete in LD or is your club just for playing? Thanks!

Length is part of it. Me personally, I wouldn't take it to the course if you haven't hit it yet. It could take some time to adjust. At least take your normal driver as well.

I carry both in my bag, but I also draw my regular driver and fade my LD club. So I use them both depending on the hole.

Another thing to consider is the weight. My LD club is very heavy, probably too heavy but I didn't really know what I was doing when I first built it. At any rate, you would be surprised how tired you get swinging that for 14-15 holes when you arent use to it.

Sorry if I was not clear. It is a 60+ gram x flex. Don't know the cpm as it was built for me by the guys at team yoshimura. The one that one the ld was only a 7deg with 6xx shaft.

And I'm not that long to compete. Far from it actually, this is just a toy.

That, and the weight. It was lighter than my playing club. But it didn't take long.

I used one in a big college tournament. The guys I played with didn't take notice until the 3rd hole when I took it across an entire dogleg which probably was about a 330+ carry. I believe I only missed a few fairways with it the two days I used it.
