Bridgestone Driver Promotion, buy a driver get a free black satin wedge

Tempting
I've been looking at the J33r 460 for awhile, demoed it with the NV, I'm not sure about it that head/combo for me. But I see that they just started a promotion where you get a free black satin wedge when you buy any Brdigestone driver.

http://www.bridgestonegolf.com/en/cardpromodriver.htm

With a golfsmith labor day sale, I could order one with an NV for about $255 and get a free wedge. I'm playing the irons and the GW, anybody with feedback on their 60 degree wedge? Any suggestions for a different shaft in the j33r 460 for somebody who is not a real high ball hitter?

I used to like um'

BUT THERE WEDGES SUCK.

The driver is nice. So are the Woods. My 2 cents.

Oh come on now. If you're going to give non-specific opinions in all caps, at least use the correct spelling (it's "their"). :idhitit:

Mike, if you're thinking about getting the Bridgestone driver, do it because you like the driver and not because of the free wedge promotion. That said, call the wedge a $75 bonus (good price on a new wedge, though they retail higher). That leaves you with the driver costing $180. Add to that the cost of a shaft install, and you're looking a bit higher.

Now, Joe Kwok can definitely help fit you into a shaft that might better fit your swing profile than the NV (though you'll probably have to give him more than "not a real high ball hitter" :stop: ). I'll put money on Fujikura having a shaft that will fit you to a tee. However, Accuflex has some VERY nice products that are extremely well priced. PM Jody (accuflex1 ? i think) if you should decide to go that route.

My personal advice though . . . boycott Bridgestone until they bring out some lefty clubs. ;)

That's why those in "the know" play Tourstage. Like Toyota & Lexus, Nissan & Infinity. Honda & Acura, Buick & Cadillac....there is a difference. ;)

Thanks for the input.

I've been playing an NV in my driver for over 3 years, and have it in my 3 wood and utility club. So I like it. But I demoed a J33r 460 with the same shaft I have in my driver and it just felt very soft and loose. I don't really know why, maybe a differnce in the bore length.

And I really do like my J33 gap wedge. I've had the X-tour wedges for about 6 weeks, I really like my SW, but the LW, I just haven't gotten real comfortable with it.

I'm jumping into this late, but the j33 460 is a very low spin low launch driver. Take this into consideration when chosing loft and shaft. You might want a shaft with a lower kick?! If you can find the right combination, you will definitely not be disappointed with the head feel and performance... Very solid, and hides the 460cc well!
