Launch angle

Hi guys,

I am currently playing a G2 10 degree with fuji 757 stiff. I love the feel but I hit the ball too high. When driving into the wind, my drives balloon.

My swing speed is around 105 mph, handicap 7 and I have always hit my drives fairly high.

I am really interested in trying a Tour Edge Exotics driver. So my question is: how does this driver launch? I was thinking of going with the 9 degree model. The whole driver loft thing is starting to drive me crazy, with many manufacturers writing numbers on the sole that are sometimes 2 or 3 degrees lower than the actual loft! How is anybody supposed to find the right product then?

Sadly, I cannot test a tour edge driver anywhere near where I live. I guess I would also pull the tour spec 757 from my Ping and put that in.

Any thoughts? BTW, I used to own an r510 TP in 9.5 with the same fuji shaft and that launched about right. This makes me think that the 9 degree model would be best in the exotics.

The TE Exotic I had was fairly close to spec. Most heads err on the high side...just a manufacturing reality. I'd say you are correct....9* would be your choice....i didn't find it launched especially low....pretty true to a bit higher. Shaft you choose will be key. The TEE has a pretty deep bore, almost blind bore. You can predict that due to the very short hosel.

Great design...mine was just a bit too upright for my tastes....otherwise it was great.

Thanks for the reassurance. I checked their website and the dirvers have a 58 degree lie angle, which is pretty standard among all manufacturers.

Now if I can just find a 9 degree model with a speeder 757 stiff on fleabay....
