Compare Hogan Apex FTX and Titleist 735 CM to MP-60

My clubs look Orthopedic

I have been going along with the theory,"Play the most game improvement irons you can stand to look at".
Now that I have added lead weight to increase 2 swing weights to my MX-900's w/IS2 stiff graphite shafts,(D5)
I think it is time to move to move on to game enhancement irons.
Anyone playing any of these irons?
I have practiced some with the MP-60's, very sweet.
Hit only 6iron and 3iron Hogan FTX. 10 balls each club is not enough to make a decision. Looked & felt great!
There may be a very good deal in the wings on Titleist 735 CM chrome. I never hit a ball, looks good.
Looking for as much feedback as I can get.
6'3" 225lbs. very strong in shape 60years young. Handicap back to 8-10 after 35 year layoff.
Driver ss 105-107.

Had a set of apex ftx and they were great, when I was on. The 3-5 weren't quite forgiving enough, but 6-PW was incredible, one of the best feeling irons I've hit. The 60's are incredible as well. Didn't like them at first, but each time I try a few, I like them more and more. To be honest, didn't care for the 735's.

I had the FTX's as well. A great iron. I really wish I hadn't got rid of them. Funnily enough I changed from them to the MX900's and hated them with a passion - IMO they are the worst thing Mizuno has ever produced. The MP60's however are another story, I really like those as well.

Don't discount the Bridgestone J33 Cavity backs. They are another very nice forged club.

35 year layoff. howd you do it. i cant survive a day without golf. anyway, welcome back! the MP-60's are very nice. But, i like the fact that the 735's have blades 8-PW. both are great. ive been thinking about purchasing tome 735's my self.

Wow, Bethpage Black, do you bring back memories!

Played there from time to time as a kid with my Dad.

Married at 21 to a girl that played tennis. That's an hour or two.

Golf was half a day away.

Marriage is still on, 38 years.

Giving up golf for so long is one of my biggest regrets.

I am passionately back!

Ok, that's one for the 735's.

Have played the FTX for two seasons--LOVE them! Short irons are deadly accurate and feel is great. Coming from somebody who went through approximately ten sets of irons in the previous three years before switching to the FTX, this recommendation means something. At times I wish I didn't like them so well, because I'm always wanting to buy something new ;-)

Shut up already - I miss my FTX's - I even tried to buy them off the guy I sold them to.

Having said that my z101's are pretty sweet as well.

Has anyone gone from new technology game improvement to several years old blade-like game enhancement? MX-900's to Apex FTX.

I love my FTX'S and shot a 73 gross 3 weeks ago on a 6700 yard championship course in the U.K. 5-E are so accurate and the short irons high launch. Can't say enough about these iron's have changed my whole game.

P.S. 2 over off a 12 handicap is pretty good :D

You owe it to yourself to find a set of FTX irons on close-out before they're all gone. No matter what you have now, you will not regret buying the FTX. Buy a couple of hybrids if you can't hit the lower irons. Hitting the 6-PW will transform your game. ;)

FTX's by a long shot. Still my backup club - generally I play a set of Apex blades simply because I like the look. That being said, I have owned and played the 735's and the MX60. Both are not bad clubs by any means. The MP60 always looks and feels a little clunky, though and the 735's are not as smooth as the FTX's or the 60's. In truth, I think the MP 32 is closer to the FTX in feel. There is no substitute for Hogan quality and the FTX's play a little easier than my Apex Blades. But don't go by me, I have had a love affair with Hogan irons for 25 years.

I`ve played BH Apex ftx, best looking iron-set I´ve ever payed. On good days, when my swing was

good-best choice, on bad days I hated this sticks. But which golfer has always good days.

The MP 60 are looking not so good, but will give you a similiar feeling and much more forgivness.

The Titleist I´ve never played.

Finally the Hogans are the most beautiful.

Do the MP60 really provide much more forgivness than the BH FTX???

I play, love and hate my FTX. best looking, best feeling and absolutly performing iron when it comes to iron PW-6. On bad days I have trouble to hit the long irons. IMO due to the straight sole?!

Would the MP60 (with 4 and 3 MP Fli-hi) or the Titleist 755 a alternative?

Or should I change to a mid-size iron like Ping i5 or TM R7 forged?

I played the MP60's for two seasons, and to date they are the best players cavity back iron that I've played. In comparison, I do find the MP60 long irons to be slightly more forgiving than the FTX long irons. Comparing these irons with their stock shafts (DGS300 vs. Apex 4), consistency helps place the MP60's ahead of the FTX. However, I temporarily played MP60's with Nippon 950's, the difference in forgiveness began to favor the FTX. In my opinion, the shaft selection makes the difference in the forgiveness between these two irons.
