project x tip trimming

is it a parallel tip?

i've got a project x 6.0 out of a driver, and i want to put it in an older 3 wood i have. if i cut 1/2" off the tip, can i expect it to play like an x flex? i tried to look at the manufacturers site, but no luck.

If its a new uncut shaft, and you want it to play to flex 6.0 in a 3 wood, it must be trimmed 0.5
trim for 5 and 7 wood is 1.0 (general trim instructions from Grafalloy)

if you want to stiffen it up, additional 0,5 inch gives about 5 cpm or makes a 6.0 play to 6.5 in your wood.

if it comes from a 910, its already trimmed 0.5 so just put it strait in if thats were this shaft came from

thank you, and it does come from a 910. i want the adapter more than i want the shaft. but a tm 300 3 wood with new shaft tech should be awesome. love those fw woods

The PX 6.0 is 66g uncut. You're going to have a very light 3 wood on your hands.

The 6.0 shaft you think of must be the 6C12 at 64 grams, but that shaft is not available from Titleist. The normal shaft at 6.0 in 910 is the 7C3 who is 73 grams.

Yep, must be the 7C3. I was thinking retail 6.0 actually at 66g. Think I've read claims here that the retail 6.0 is the same as the 6C12. Interesting that they don't weight the same.

No the retail 6.0 is 64 gram with a torque of 3.3 while the 6C12 is 66 gram with a TQ of 3.5

The last digits on Ti shafts is model number, in this case model nr 12 in the 60 gram range with C flex (6.0)
That means there was made at least another 11 models, and one of them might be the one who ended up as 6.0 retail, but there are small differences all the way between Retail and Ti models, (or Callaway models for that matter)

Cool Thanks for the specs! I got those weights from thier website, not that I'd play either one. I am playing the 8B4 right now in driver and love it! Great shafts.
