RYOMA driver

Why not more buzz?
I saw the Ryoma D-1 "live" in Bangkok for the first time the other day. It belonged to the japanese owner of a small shop that specializes in premium Japanese shafts and club heads from brands such as Crazy, The Mystery, Miura, Kamui and now also Ryoma.

I didnt hit it, but just looking at the specs makes you understand some of the hype, and everybody that ever buys one swears its the straightest and quite often also the longest driver ever.

While some OEMs brag about having 25-30 grams of "discreationary weight" to place in the clubhead, Ryoma produces a crown so thin but still strong that they can put a 60 gram (!) weight pod in the back of the clubhead, making it extremely stable, and making every major brands offering look stone age in comparison. And all that weight in a head that can be ordered as light as 189 grams...Almost a third of the total clubhead weight coming from that pod in the back and low of the head? This MUST be an engineering feat worthy of recognition, even by the biased US golf magazines?

Sure its extremely expensive at more than 1000 dollars, but this must be the most forgiving and for many the best driver available?

The thing is, a major brand such as TM, Callaway etc wouldnt be able to produce a driver like this because every head must be thoroughly stresstested and inspected in detail in order to be able to offer a driver head with such a thin crown and still be able to guarantee it wont collapse. The tightness of tolerances must be extreme. I guess the fail rate even at Ryoma must be huge, and since the large OEMs are all about massproducing quickly this way of working would be impossible.

my driver ( amongst others.)
easily one of the straightest longest, best feeling drivers there is.
shaft this with a top shaft. not much better if any.

the misshits are the best thing about it , get it off the toe and it still rockets out there.

at 1000 bucks a head worth every cent.

put a crazy. p9003x quadra on diamana stinger in it its the top of the driver tree.
almost impossible to not take this out every weeekend when the coins on the line.

fanatastic driver.

Ryoma does not need more buzz since they could not produce their driver faster enough, especially the Premia. So far I have hit all three models and personally like the Premia's feel the best. Distance would probably come after owning and using the driver for a while but having tested the Premia and the regular D-1 for a period of two weeks, they are the straightest drivers I have ever hit including my very forgiving Epon EMS. If you have the proper shaft with this driver, you tee balls would be in play more of the time and hence lower score.

they need to snazz up the cover it comes with , for a grand that horrendous thing is an eye sore and almost an insult.
i refuse to tkae that thing out on course it upsets me.

used ti agn on sat hit 12-14 down the pipes including a cpl of up there with the bests .. with the GD p9003x shaft,
u wanna hit a fairway regulary...., this set up is the best i own.

going to do some spring cleaning on a few pieces now, no need any more.

slightly lighter shaft for no wind open fairway courses .and the p9 beast for heavy days.

dont really need anything else.

At Tourspecgolf, there are a multitude of head weights to choose from. If I where to purchase just the head, shafted with a 65 weight shaft, what head weight do I need to get the club at D2?

Thanks in advance

The best way is to contact Tario of TSG about your question but make sure you give him the desired playing length and weight of grip. My friend ordered a Ryoma Premia head at 198g then shafted it with a Fuji Motore VC5 and a 50g grip. The SW came out D2 for a playing length of 45.5".
