How can you accurately measure how far you hit each club?

I've really got back into the game after buying a new set of G20's, so much so I'm desperate to get fairly accurate measurements on how far I hit each club. This would need to be for both carry and total distance.

I know the most sensible answer is going to be using a laser rangefinder at the range, but having just bought new irons, a new driver/hybrid is first in the que for my next golf purchase. So i'm not going to be buying a laser rangefinder any time soon.

Any tips greatfully received.

A very good launch monitor will tell you , make sure you are on the grass not a rubber mat. My club uses Trackman and it's as reliable as it gets. Just go use it for a day , you can probably rent time
on it. My swing coach knows how to run it and I hit every shot in the book with every club a bunch of times and we figured it out in 3 hrs. You probably have a general idea of your numbers but this will really get you close. Hit soft, hard, stingers, high, low and anything you use. We just did this last week. I am worried being such a hoe that I will have to do this every time I change clubs . I don't think I will leave the S56's for a while unless ping releases a new S56 replacement. I also double checked the distances to make sure the Trackman was accurate and it was never very off. I still can't understand how it sees the tiny ball at the speeds it is at , how does it low the roll out ? Now that I think about it there might be another monitor working alongside Trackman giving other info. I think we have flight scope and a Trackman . One of them we entered some info into.

Try going out to a golf course near the end of the day when it's not crowded. If rain is forecasted that's even better. Then you have the luxury of hitting multiple balls (the actual ball you play - not tired range balls) with each iron and getting an average distance. Just remember to use a normal tempo swing that will prove to be reliable. If you can borrow a laser rangefinder that will help to confirm accurate distance to the pin or center of green for a baseline reference. Good luck.

Thanks for the replies. I phoned the local range and they told me I can rent Trackman for an hour (with the Pro watching) and provide me with a USB stick with all data regarding how far I hit the club. Sorted.

Im looking for some of the same information as well ... Did they tell you how much an hour would cost?

I'm live in Dubai, so not sure how useful the price here will be for you, but I'm paying for a 1 hour lesson with a junior pro and it's simply going to be a Trackman session. It's costing $68 of your US dollars. Not too bad to bottom exactly how far I hit my clubs, it will be an incredibly useful exercise. I'm fairly confident I know how far I can hit my wedges and 9i because I often use them from the tee at par 3's, but it's the longer clubs I am honestly just guessing with.

I'm sure I will be pretty surprised with the results. My sesssion is not till 29 October as Trackman can't operate outside in the current Dubai temperatures, but I will post my results when I have them. I'm confident I have been over-estimating my distance with each club by 10 yards. To have a more accurate list of distances on the course with me will make a huge difference to my course management.

Early in hand photos of the new GT2 models t the truck.  As soon as they show up on the range in player's bags we'll get some better from the top photos and hopefully some comparison photos against the last model.
