First DIY Refinish

This is my first attempt at a DIY refinish, I was bored at work and had 4 hours to kill.
Finish is not perfect, but my arm was getting tired.

Please don't be too brutal.

I think it looks great! I was a bit confused seeing the Before pictures come last. As the pics progressed i was like oh no! but quickly realized the first pic is the finished product. that looks fantastic. Is That solid brass? How about the pics of the top that appear to have alot of scratches?How did you finely clean those up steel wool or something else? and does the G Blue "hide" any remaining imperfections? i have an original brass acusnhet wide flange Bullseye and an original T.P. Mills Spalding #3. the mills is carbon.. I am just surprised at the texture and the finished color of that on brass!

The putter is actually Beryllium Copper.

I started with 100 grit and moved on all the way to 1400 grit wet. The it was time for the steel wool 0000. then buffing compound.

After that remove residue and wash putter head.

Apply gun blue rinse buff with steel wool. Repeat 4 times.

The finish has a nice grey look to it. Unfortunately due to the Copper its not as durable as it would be on steel.

for future reference, don't do any sanding/grinding/whatever wtih berryllium copper. that stuff is known health hazard, and they odn't make golf clubs out of the stuff any more for that reason. will one run-in with it kill you? probably not, but I wouldn't keep going with this.
