Anyone ever try the Abs Diet? I have been looking it over, and it looks pretty attainable. They say you can lose like 12 pounds in 2 weeks, and then more afterward because they teach you to eat healthy, not diet. Anyone here ever tried it?

There's no magic bullets for losing weight. It's a simple formula, caloric intake must be less than calioric output.

 

Just eat healthy, unprocessed foods (vegetables, whole grain pasta, white meat chicken, no saturated fats), eat less, and exercise more, the weight will come flying off.

Understand that those initial twelve pounds is mostly going to be water weight. The most weight (i.e. body fat) that most people can lose in a week is two pounds (one pound is more realistic). Anymore than this and you are likely catabolizing your lean body mass (i.e. muscle). Obviously, you do not want to do this as it will significantly slow your metabolism and ultimately make it harder to continuously lose weight (i.e. reaching a plateau).

 

'The Abs Diet' isn't terrible (if I remember correctly it is written by Mens Health), but there are far better. Check out the e-book 'Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle' by Tom Venuto. It is not the most professionally written, but the information contained within it is unmatched.

If you want to lose it fast, then go HERE and buy "The Rapid Fat Loss Handbook". Make sure you do the lifting as he suggests, or you won't be able to preserve the lean body mass.

I think the AB'S diet is a really good plan! I am 6'6 and around 250 lbs. All though I don't look that fat at all because I am tall I still have a lot of excess weight I would like to shed! I have a very sedentary job, and I love to eat unhealthy foods! I am also a very picky eater. I looked at all kinds of different diets and plans (mostly because my wife brings them home). None of them even seemed practical for me and knew that I couldn't stick to them. The AB's diet however is a plan I can deal with! The theories in the plan make a hell of a lot of sense. (ie building muscle to burn fat). There are some really interesting principals at work in this plan. I never feel really hungry, or like I can't eat some of my favorite foods. The only thing that is hard for me is preparing the 6 meals a day. Even though some of them are small, still (for me) I feel like I am always worried about bringing food to work etc.... BUT, all good things come with a price. If it were easy everyone would look like TIGER. I was on this plan about 10 months ago and stuck to it for a month. I lost almost 20 lbs and felt so much better. I wasn't even working out that hard at all. I was doing some exercising, but just scratching the surface really. I know this contradicts what I said earlier about being easy to stick to (only staying on it for a month) but I really just quit and went back to my old habits. I am getting ready to start the AB'S diet again and I am going to commit myself to it!! I really recommend giving it a try!!!!!!!!!!! Good luck

Been doing the Abs diet for two weeks today. It is pretty easy to stick to. I have no idea how much weight I have lost as my scale sucks, but I need a new belt and my pants fit much better. The best part is not being hungry. I am thinking I have lost about 5 pounds thus far.
