Just wanted to share a deal, the Mobitee Golf Assistant (premium version) is a FreeAppADay featured app for iPhone. It looks pretty awesome. It's a GPS, Rangefinder, scorecard, virtual coach, and more. I have not used or signed up for it yet so I can't speak for it's accuracy/ease of use/etc but it's regularly $24.90 (according to the Mobitee website www.Mobitee.com) so I downloaded it for when golf season arrives.

i was coming here to post this....i downloaded it, and won't get to give it an on-course eval for a while, but so far, it looks pretty handy

I downloaded this application and there is at least one issue I've found: there is no way to add a missing tee box to a course from within the application. There are two courses in my area that I viewed after downloading the app and found that they were not up to date. The only way to update them was to go to the Mobitee web site and do it there, which I did. In one case, the name of the course, the phone number and other information had been changed some time ago by the course, but this information was not in the Mobitee data for the course. It is also necessary when doing an update through the Mobitee site to position the furthest tee and the corresponding hole on an aerial view for each hole on the course. For one of the courses that I updated, this information was way off in many cases. There is a provision to be notified when the course is updated.

Today I did receive notification emails for both of the courses I updated. I reviewed each of the courses in the app and found that the course data for the course with the name change had been updated, the new tee box information for both updated courses had not. I also checked the courses on the web site and found that the tee box information that I input was not updated. I will follow up with Mobitee and see if they have an answer.

While I've not used this app on the course, it does look promising (if they can get the course update issue resolved.)

Still available for free. I just downloaded it. Looks pretty cool.

Gave it a try, seems a bit slow, and they are missing a lot of courses. The Google stamp on all the aerial maps is getting in the way, and the aerial isn't too clear. Still, not bad for free. Don't think I would buy it though.
