Golf as it was meant to be

Got back late Monday night from 5 amazing days at Bandon Dunes, including Sheep Ranch. Wanted to get lots of pics, but it rained most of the time so the camera pretty much stayed in the bag. Got one though, looking up the 5th at Bandon from the tee box, that pretty much sums it up.This place is awesome!

Great picture! Did you get to play all the courses? If so, how would you rank them? Thinking of taking a trip down the coast to check it out this year myself.

Never been to the Pebble Beach area, but I know the price of Bandon Dunes trumps it.. I cant wait to get back now that Old Mac is open!

Played em all. Played Bandon and Old Mac twice. Liked Old Mac much better this year then last year. I recall that it took a couple years to really warm up to Trails, but I really look forward to it now and suspect Old Mac will be the same.

As far as ranking them: Its like asking which of the Victoria's Secret models is your favorite. But given the task, I would rank Pacific by a hair over Bandon, Trails a very close third, and Old Mac as the up-and-comer.

Sheep Ranch was pure fun. Play to a green, and pick where you want to go next. Spent a whole day making it up as we went with no score to chase. Played one hole that had to be a thousand yards, Dr-3w-3w-5i-pw. It was like being a kid on the playground. One of the most unique and memorable golf experiences of my life.

I've played PB twice and most of the tracks in Monterey, because it's in my area. Without a doubt, it deserves every accolade given. For me, I'd rather make the trip up to the Southern Oregon Coast.

Played Bandon in college for our Team Spring Break trip. Pacific is pretty amazing and has some unreal views. I kind of liked the more links style of trails, but agree it's probably the third best course there. Wish I could get back there in some good weather (it was sort of cold in March when we played) to play Old Mac - we played it before Old Mac opened.

Makes me proud to be from Oregon. I'm going to head over next month and then playing there with my dad in September as well.

my ranking is Pacific, Old Mac, Bandon, Trails. But Old Mac is at the top for desire to play it over and over again and discovering it like a brand new course each time.

Great photo on Bandon. I got a similar photo last year from the 16th green back to the 16th tee. The rainbow was so big, I couldn't fit it on one image. I had take it in two images.

Love Bandon, Pacific and Old Mac. I like Trails up to the 13th hole. They should blow up #14.
