Long Putters

Suggestions?

I have used a 2-Ball long putter for the past 2 years or so. I loved it, until it was stolen (along with rest of clubs and car). I have replaced everything except the putter. I could just replace it, but wanted to see if there was another long putter someone would recommend.

If you like more of a mallet look the Cameron Red X long is pure and if you like a blade look then i would suggest the Bettinardi BB-50 or an older model Cameron Big Sur. I have used all of these and they are very solid. Hope this helps.

Byron makes 2 outstanding long putters..#1 is a 400 gram stainless mid-broom.#2 Is a 450gram Carbon steel Broom. These are both really nice. PM Me I will set you up...

Give the Cameron Futura long a shot if you can find one. I have also noticed that GolF Galaxy has been stocking a Bettinardi Hogan long putter for $99 and the Never Compromise Voodoo long for about $70.

check out the long putters from fourteen golf...a little funky but are nice!!! you putt with their long putters in the conventional way...no need to anchor it to any part of your body...also check out the long putters from guerin rife!

You just have to find a shop with plenty to choose from and just start rolling balls on the putting green. I was having problems a couple months ago with my putter, got up on a sat. hit the pro shop, grabbed 5 or six putters and hit the green. The one I left with (never compromise voodoo daddy 41" belly) was the one I thought that I would least likely take when looking at them.

DEFINITELY get in touch with Steve Z. http://www.z-mangolf.com and investigate Byron Morgan's brooms. I have 2 mid-brooms and play them short at 33.5" and they are awesome either long or short. 303 stainless, great milling, very high MOI and true craftsmanship.

I have been using long putters for over 10 years and have tried every model out there. Crucial factors in choosing a long putter is loft, lie angle and what I feel is most important is shaft stiffness. Must be a True Temper ski pole shaft or you will feel flex in the shaft on long putts and controlling distance will be difficult. Tried the Titleist red x and the shaft just didn't feel stiff enough.

 

Can tell you without a doubt that the best long putter out there is the Pinfire Liberty long model- some benefits of it are as follows:

 

1- ski pole shaft

2- perfect loft and lie angle for long putter

3- sweet milled head with a variety of colors available.

4- the best alignment system out there

5- great feeling and solid looking putter which rivals expensive name brand putters.

 

give it a try it lowered my putting average over two putts per round and I'm a scratch player.

I used to change putters too often but since putting this putter in my bag in July, I haven't thought about looking at another putter too often.

Ya I love mine too. I had to extend mine to a 50" because I'm 6'3.
