Doesn't this system come out in less than a week? And $14,900 for a console is just flat out insane, regardless of how rich the buyer is. Completely wasteful.

My thoughts exactly. I have been looking to pre-order a game system, but have had no luck. In any case, Ebay will be flooded with them soon enough. I can't wait until I see the 7k Playstation 3 "box" auction.

Well, that would equal out to 23 games. I am not sure if there are 23 games that are out at release are there?? Even with that being the case they are still making good money on this as they paid around $700 for the system and they will pay around $1,500 for the games so they will still make plenty of profit. I just wonder how they are going to conjure up 23 games to send with the system.

I think the high bidder was a fraud. If you look at his profile, he is no longer a registered user. Also, if you notice, he placed a 1600 dollar bid, followed a minute later by a huge bid, over 14,800

 

Think it was a sham, whatever it is, can you imagine the final value fees for that guy. LOL

Well, I don't feel awful for them. I thought about buying a PS3 and putting it on eBay to make some extra cash and then I thought about all the hard working parents that might be saving up to get this a christmas present for their kids and how I would be jacking prices up on someones potential christmas gift. Heck of a time to get a soft heart, huh? ;)

I agree with choeppner, total fraud. Plus he had a zero feedback--there is no way you would accept that much from a zero feedback user before some sort of back and forth communication.

I'm not really into video games but for some ungodly reason I waited overnight for an XBOX 360 last year. I bought it for $499 and sold it the next day for $1200. I really felt like I was wasting a part of my like that night!

Ebay is restricting sales of the PS3..

 

You can only sell if you have 98% feedback rating and you can only sell one at a time....

You can make quite a bit of money from this kind of thing, but eBay has the right idea (for once) in restricting sales.

I have to agree with McBush when he says your are potentially jacking up the price of a kids present, but if you knew it was a rich guy with nothing better to do, I wouldn't feel so bad. :D

Dave you are in agreement a lot today. I have to agree though with what you said. I only feel bad if I think that it may be some kids Christmas present, but if I knew I was selling to some rich man with nothing better to do then I wouldn't care as much.

 

My future sister-in-law works at our local Wal-Mart and she said that they are only getting 10 here and that one lady has been there since yesterday so she could get one for her son for Christmas. She also told me that there was one guy who came in there today and told the group that was waiting that he would pay $5,000 to anyone of them that would sell their PS3. Of the 10 16 waiting to get 10 only 2 of the people said they would keep theirs. The rest are selling theirs.

 

So how many people are camping out at your local Wal-Mart, Best Buy, etc.??
