Redwood putter info. does this make sense to you?

After weeks of waiting for the Ping Redwood to arrive, I finally got the chance to demo it,boy what an awesome putter (tried the anser and piper models), after what seemed an eternity I decided on the Piper model because of my swing path being more straight back and thru, the slant neck, they tell me is better for my stroke. But when I addressed the face of the putter to the ball, I found the face of the putter open,I asked the pro who was helping why it looked open if this putter is a faced balanced putter meaning it should fit square when addressing the ball. He layed the putter shaft on a flat surface, with the putter head hanging over the edge, the putter face should lay flat,but this putter was open quite a bit, we tried one other Piper and this one was closed, so he called his Ping rep just to make sure and the rep told him the shafts were not properly installed and to order me another.He said when you lay the putter head over the edge over a flat surface the face should lay flat if you desire a square face at address(some people like a putter opened or closed ). Im not sure if this makes any sense to you guys, the pro seemed to know what he was talking about.Does this make sense to you?

Still getting the Redwood Piper, have another one on order.Just a little info the pro gave me so I thought Id pass it on. Tried to explain it the best I could, If this theory dosent make any sense, I apologize for the mis info, , but I figure you guys could help.

Don't apologize. The pro was spot on. But to have that much inconsistency with the balance of the club is strange... especially for a brand like Ping.

Does it have a double bend putter shaft?

That is why I never buy/use double bend putters. They are so hard to get consistent not only for lie but loft as well. You'd be surprised how far off they can get in transit, let alone production specs.
