Getting on Bethpage Black in July

I am taking my son to Bethpage in the middle of July, there are 2 of us and it will be a weekday. What time should we get in line at the course? What are the chances for getting out the next day for a 2some?

[b]I believe you can call ahead now but not too sure how in advance you need or can do it u know. For a 2some during the week you can get on easy. If u wanna do the sleepout in the car thing I say get there at 4pm the day before u wanna get out. That seems to be the general concensus on anything I,ve read about it. You guys can cookout with a small grill and do the father,son thing.[/b]

As a twosome during the week, you will be able to get out that day. If you show up around 6:00 a.m., you'll be out before noon, maybe sooner. Get a hotel room in the area and if after getting to the course you find out you wont be able to get out for several hours, just head back to the hotel, grab some breakfast and then return back to the course for your designated tee time.

Hey all, great thread and I wanted to piggy back on it if I could. My buddy and I are wanting to drive up from DC to Bethpage black this Friday, camp out in the lot Friday night, and play the black Saturday. So far, we haven't heard back from the Bethpage tee time reservation system even though we both faxed our info in a week ago. So, it looks like we are resigned to camping out in the lot, which is no problem. Just wanted to see if I could get a local's best guess on what time to show up on Friday and if you think it's even worth it with it being 4th of July weekend. I'm a 2 handicap and he is a 5 handicap, have both been playing well lately, and really wanted to see what we could shoot up there on such a tough course. Any info would be great or if you have room in a foursome this upcoming weekend for either day, please let me know! Thanks! Kevin

They are not going to contact you to tell you that your in the system. Doesnt matter anyway, your not going to be able to get any tee time before 3PM via phone only 3 days out (unless you get real lucky and someone cancels and you happen to call right away). Show up Friday afternoon/early evening sometime and you should be fine for saturday. Expect a 5 plus hour round but its well worth it!! Enjoy!

Also, when you get there Friday, stop in the clubhouse and see if you can snag a tee time for the next day. You might get lucky.

I sent my info in, and they called me to tell me I was in the system the next day. I am going to try and call for a tee time, but if I cant I will be there early.

Heading to NY for a couple days at the end of the month. Called the reservation line and was pretty bummed to find out the black is closed one of my days.
