Follow the Sun

This may have been asked, but I searched Amazon for Follow the Sun, (Ben Hogans story). It is only on VHS apparently. Can this be true? it's hard to believe it hasn't been re-produced on DVD.

Does anyone know if it ever airs on the Golf Channel, it seems like it would be a great thing for them to show, especially since this year is his 100th birthday. Has it ever been on TMC or any of the classic movie channels?

I mean I know the guy was very private but man he's even carried that over into the after life :)

I have looked too, there are snipits of the movie on Youtube, but no digital copy that I'm aware of.

yeah, I did a google search and found a couple clips of it. Looks like it would be pretty decent. I didn't think to look and see if it's downoaldable online anywhere, but I'm guessing not if it's not on DVD.

I've read that it doesn't capture Hogan the man at all. Still, I'm sure it's a good dramatization of an inspiring story. I think it'd be neat to see it on TV.

love to see it also.
i believe it was actually Hogan doing the swinging in the movie,
be worth it just for that.
i have only seen a small clip as well, where his "wife" comes to the range and says "darling aren't you tired? you've been here for 6 hours" or something like that.
and it has an appearance by the real Sam Snead.
there's another movie called The Caddy with Snead in it from about the same time, never heard much about it.

Yes, I read recently in I believe James Dodson's book, that he got very frustrated trying to teach Glen Ford a good swing that he just did a lot of the golf shot scenes where the face wasn't shown, but they would then switch to Ford watching the result of the shot. All that said, many say Ford was actually a pretty decent golfer, just not up to Hogan's perfectionist standards.

I've seen a small clip on You Tube where she leaves him at the range before his first professional tournament and says "Darling...Hit them long and straight"
