FT Tour reshafting

Well I went to the range today and was amazed to find my ft tour head no where near my golf bag. I am not sure how it happened but it snapped off right between the io section and the hozzle.

 

I was pretty happy with it 9.5* and my aldila SVS6 350 stiff shaft. I play 4 - 6 times a month and shoot in the mid 80's. I might put the ball 265-275 with a slight fade. But can keep it in the fairway.

 

I'd really like to salvage the head and am trying to figure out my next move. I'll obviously need a new shaft but what should I look for? The Blueboard gets some good feedback along with the speeder series. I'll probably have goldsmith install whatever I buy but I'm just looking for some suggestions. I'll try to get my club speed and such for your guys ASAP.

 

Also I've hit a friends g10 really well in the past and might be looking at a ping or even taylormade replacement. Being a fleabayer a new driver might be an option.

You have a couple of options....

1. It seems you had a factory built club with the SVS6...... If that's the case call Callaway Customer service and they'll reshaft it for free, they'll probably send you a shipping label to send it back for free as well (If the person you talk do doesn't do this, then call back, I guarantee they'll make it right, [b][u]best customer service in the business[/u][/b])
2. If you don't want to go thru Callaway (i.e. spend your own money) I'd look at Blueboard, Kaili, Fubuki Tour, Fubuki Alpha, DI.....

If you want to reshaft it at golfsmith, you can always choose the same aldila shaft. It's Aldila voodoo svs6.

Another cheaper good option is Harisson Saga.

Definitely call Callaway first. Don't try reshafting it yourself until you have spoken to them.

The reason for this being that the FT Tour head doesn't respond well to heat, and will increase the chances of the head failing... if it does and you've put a shaft in it yourself there is slim to no chance that that Callaway will grant you a replacement.

If the re-shaft work is done by Callaway, they will almost certainly replace it for a new club, should it fail as a result of the repair they carried out. You never know, they may just send you a Razr Fit replacement anyway, as the heat issue is well known about.

Call up Callaway ... I would not put it in Golfsmiths hands you never know what type of experiance you will get!

I called Callaway and they are going to reshaft it. On top of that they are going to expedite the service so that I can get it back this Friday just in time for my trip to hilton head. Amazing service if it happens in time

It is pretty amazing service. I was worried that I would have to mail the shaft but the Customer Service Rep said just the club head would be fine. I hope it gets back in time because I just booked times at Old South, HH National and Palmetto Dunes Jones Course. Either way it is exceptional service.

Callaway shipped the re-shafted club directly to the resort. Awesome! except that I was hitting my backup Hyper X Pro amazing at Hilton Head National the day before. After some range time I decided to keep with the Hyper X at Old South and Robert Trent.

I'm gonna give it alittle more range time but with how well I am hitting the Hyper X, the FT Tour might be for sale soon... It's funny how things work out sometimes.
