Need help making a decison on which course to play in monterey area

going up to carmel by the sea area for labor day weekend with the gf and she wants to play golf one day the courses i have been looking at are pacific golf links, bayonet/black hourse golf courses of those 3 which one would you chose to play or is there another course that you would rather play in that price range 60-120 a person is what i'm mainly looking at right now

Pacific Grove is one of my favs. But, it is a muni and the conditions are average at best . However, the scenery is outstanding and there is deer and wildlife everywhere. The back nine is very scenic as you go towards the ocean. Best bang for your buck in the entire state. Front nine is borderline boring but back nine is memorable

If your gf is into scenery and ocean views and doesn't care about conditions take her here. Bayonet/BlackHorse are awesome courses. Conditions are exceptional and the greens are amazing. Turf quality is very high and healthy and greens are like carpet. Layout is nice but views are average and the holes get mundane after awhile. People don't seem to remember many of the holes cuz they're all kinda the same. If she prefers course quality over the overall experience take her here

I would play the back 9 early at pac grove , have breakfast, and then play bayonet.

or skip both and drive up to santa cruz to play pasatiempo. check their website as they offered discounted green fees lately.

Think I'm going to play the black hourse course I'm planning to come bck up later in the year and play with dad and his buddy and would like to see the quality of that. Course so I could possibly play bayonet later in the year and some other more high end local spots

The greens are in awesome condition right now because the PGA Professionals National was just held there last month. I just played Bayonet two weeks ago and will be playing Blackhorse this weekend.Course is in immaculate condition. Bayonet is more punishing for errant tee shots though because of the tree lined fairways.

Bayonet is a bit tougher for sure. Both are very fun and very tough. Its hard to hold greens there with anything longer than a 8 iron depending on the conditions. Sometimes they are just ridiculously hard and fast. But a very fun challenge for sure.
Many people I know say that PG muni isn't worth the price. The back nine is the only special part, the front is like your average muni.

Played Black Horse @ Monteray today.
Nice but not for the official Rate of 125$.
Find a 85$ on golfnow.thats ok, not more.
Greens were in good condition, practicearea is great.
