Caddying around Boston

Hey guys. I'm thinking about heading to the East coast (preferably Boston) next summer to do some caddying and was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for clubs with good caddie programmes to get into? I'm pretty experienced already, having done 5 seasons at Old Head in Ireland I'm just looking for a change of scenery. Any and all advice or information would be most appreciated!

This isn't you, is it?

Caddies are a dying breed around Boston, from what I've seen. The Country Club in Brookline certainly has a good program and the Vineyard Club in Edgartown has some 1st class caddies in season. I wouldn't know where else to recommend, except perhaps the Boston Club & Old Sandwich.

You need an "in" to get into any sort of exusive club like mentioned above. If your lucky a member of one of these clubs is a member here and can help you out to get into one of these plces. Would caddying be your full time job or just trying something new?

I caddied growing up, 100% believe that it was a transformative experience for me. I hope my son picks up the game, and considers caddying when he's old enough. That said; that's a dozen years away...

No that's not me in the picture, thankully I'm younger and better looking than that! I don't even recognise that caddy, how long ago was the photo taken? Due to visa requirements and other complications I would only be able to caddy for a summer, but it would be full time in my time there. It's not a career, if that's what you're asking, by next summer I'll be a college graduate (fingers crossed).

That was taken 2 years ago, obviously at Old Head. If you're coming for only July & August, try to get something going at the Vineyard Club. I may have a connection, he should be home from Martha's Vineyard this week & when I see him, I'll ask him.

[sup]You don't need any "IN" at TCC. Just park in the caddy parking lot (on Clyde St) and introduce yourself to the caddymaster at the crack of dawn. You might not get a loop, but it's at least worth trying. He might tell you to come back or hang around. This is my recommendation having grown up caddying there, maybe it has changed though. [/sup]
