Today at Remax Worlds, the wind at the grid is downrange, longest ball so far today is 468, 429 just got eliminated in the last round.

Lmao.....how much wind and at what altitude......balls fly further in the desert but yeah........no aspirations for ld.comp....its a very different sport .....my coach was in the top 5 in the world on the mid to late 90s in long drive........i can hit it further than a lot of folks but once you pass 400 in carry you are in a different planet.........

I played wiht a guy the other week who had competed in some LD stuff. He had a SS over 130, has hit em in the high 300s. Big guy with unreal speed. He was hitting them way too high when we played so no really long ones to talk about, other than bascially being longer on most every hole than I've ever seen before, and all carry. But he hit this one that hung in the air so long I broke out laughing out loud. Just unreal, I used to dream about maybe hitting them all in the grid over 350 and getting lucky and walking away with some christmas money, that's not even playing the same game...

sblack, altitude in mesquite is 1600 feet, wind is about 30 mph, left to right & helping. Sadlowski is using the Adams 9032LD head. The ball that went 468 2 hopped the fence at the end of the grid or it would have went 485+, it carried about 420, Ryan Winther was the hitter, his swing speed is 152+, ball speed is over 220 mph. Zuback is supposedly using Krank heads this year(Vinny may know more about that). Long Drive & the Golf Channel are supposedly getting together starting next year until at least 2015, October will be Long Drive month on the Golf Channel. If the wind stays the same, 440 won't be enough to win, its all about conditions & with this wind you need to hit a really high ball to maximize your distance.

Brian at sellingers told me that they are in the early stages of prototyping a replacement to the 9088lda with adams. 9064 is still my favorite head on a driver of all time

6'4".....205...29 yrs old. Long armed. Was 238 lbs at one point and competed as an amateur bodybuilder....still do squats with 405.......powerful legs and hips make ball go far

^^^^ made a career in ballroom dancing before moving on to pursue golf.....it helps with coordination and body awareness immeasurably....not to mention swing rhythm
