1980's Daiwa Advisor irons

Recommended Posts

I'm trying to locate info on Daiwa Advisor irons that were manufactured during the 1980's.

a) Titleist has their previous irons listed on their website. Is there a website featuring classic Daiwa irons? I can't seem to locate any, unless I'm using the wrong search parameters.

b) I am looking for a specific set of Advisors and I don't remember the DG ????.

Thanks

I am soooo sorry for the VERY LATE reply. I suffered a shoulder injury and ended up with frozen shoulder syndrome. It's taken me this long to get full use of my left arm.
I am looking to purchase a set of these Daiwa irons in good condition..

How about Daiwa Advisor DG273's? I used to play those. DG=David Graham and 273= his winning score at the US Open (at Merion I believe). I played them 2-11 irons. Ian Baker Finch played them as did several others back then..Tiger also for a while as I understand. They came in a polished finish and a satin finish. They were actually cast irons..cast from soft carbon steel. They didnt mention this because people wouldnt have bought them because they would have considered them inferior because they werent forged. No one could tell they werent forged. Very traditional looking blade. really really nice.

The one and only time I became club champion at my local course I was using the DG273s. The were fabulous irons and were so coveted by one of my regular playing partners that he offered me his Ping Eye 2 irons plus a hundred pounds for them - a lot of money back in '82. As I was unemployed at the time, I accepted his offer and regretted it for years afterwards. He also went on to win our club championship with them (twice) and continued to play with them for several years. I never thought I'd see another set until I stumbled across one on eBay which I won for fifty pounds. I've used them couple of times since I got them but mostly they sit in my garage now reminding me of my 'glory days'. I've owned some great sets of clubs since but the Advisors will always be special to me.

Early in hand photos of the new GT2 models t the truck.  As soon as they show up on the range in player's bags we'll get some better from the top photos and hopefully some comparison photos against the last model.
