Miura CB202 vs 501

I am presently practicing with the 202 models and wondering if the 501's would be any better. I'm not worried about the solid strikes. More interested in the off days. Would the 501's be any more forgiving.

 

I am a 2 hdcp and the shafts are aerotech steel fiber.

I have owned both and slso a 2 hdcp, I didn't find any real difference in forgiveness between them other than the 501's where less prone to dig and had more off set. I guess offset would be forgiveness for some...not so much for me, i have issues with off set. Off centre hits I found them equal.

I demo'd both before I went with Tournament Blades and I agree with Zig above about the off-set. If I have too much off-set then I can't fade the ball and the 501s had too much for me. Both are really solid clubs.

Thanks guys. Great info there.

The funny thing is before I knew anything about the Miura I looked on there website and the 202 is the club I chose. After reading the forums it looked like the 501 were the club of choice. I found a great deal on the CB202 with aerotech shafts in them and bought them to try them out. So far I like them a lot.

My only worry now is the digging. The course I play at now has tight lies on the fairway. I am not a digger but now worry if I am in a wet spot it might dig on me.

Sounds like I made the right purchase. I really don't like any offset. I'm looking forward to playing these for this season. Thanks again for the opinions.

I still have my 202's. but made a change to game improvement irons. Went with Baby blades. The ultimate GI iron. Basically you hit the sweet spot...or you don't hit the ball at all. Every time you actually make contact it's solid!

+1, same for me. Own the CB-202s and PP-9003s but the baby blades are in the bag.

Interesting. Makes me want to try some blades again.

I practice a lot but not sure I play enough to use blades.

i've owned both too and i feel the 501s are more forgiving and doesnt feel as harsh when mishit compared to 202s.
