What happened to Aithos?

Does anyone remember Aithos? He started a progress thread to follow his journey to scratch but i think he stalled out around 15. He was updating it several times a week and also had a thread arguing that blades are better for some high HC players. He was quite active on this site but seemed to suddenly stop one day and now has not logged in for 5 months. Anyone know what happened? I was interested because I found his threads/posts to be entertaining. I hope everything is ok.

I think he lost all his cred when he started a topic on How to properly talk about golf, never make general blanket statements about the game or one's own game. Imagine that. A poser, I mean poster telling other people how they should talk and properly discuss tha game of golf. Completely and utterly embarrassing ...

I'm going to need more details than that, I think. It could be that he was 100% correct.

Lots of blanket statements are made and are assumed true, but are not.

This is the only detail you need to know, when you post a topic telling other people what is the right way and the wrong way to talk about golf, you are just begging to be laughed at. Seriously think about that. A post about how to properly talk about golf..... on the Internet. Let that seriously sink in or read the whole thread on your own.

He wasn't a bad guy, but I think he turned most people off who read his stuff. He talked about hot-topics like blades and handicapping.

I always felt his permanent thread was weird and I'm surprised the mods let him do it. I mean, there are how many posters/readers here? And there needs to be a constantly up-dated thread about the misadventures of 1 too-heavily-opinionated high handicapper? This isn't twitter or facebook where I can just tune you out. If there are threads clogging up page-1 of the forum, that's a big deal. If you're going to do that, start a blog...don't do it on a public forum that's not your property.

That was my only thing. Other than that, he just seemed a little silly talking about duffing shots. I mean, it was rather humorous how seriously he took himself sometimes. He definitely put 10x as much effort into documenting his playing as he did practicing.

He wasn't bad guy, but that whole thing to me was just comically weird. I would just say he was somewhat naive.

That was actually a pretty funny read. Dude makes the same excuses for whatever he was doing in that game as for golf. Always has a reason as to why he didn't perform.
