Course lenghth

lenghth you like to play shortest to highest

what are the shortest yardages you like to play, your longest, and your ideal yardages.
shortest is somewhere in the 6400 range, but I don't really like to play that too much
Longest that I like to play is around 7100 much longer, and I have to hit too many long irons
Ideal whith a mix of the whole bag is around 6900 to 7000

Umm if i get down into the 6700 yard range i play really bad. I like long courses- 7000 + If the course gets up wards of 7300 i can still play them but they become unfun. The course looses it character unless that 7300+ course is in utah or colorado.Then they can go up to 7800 but after that 7800 anything is a wear on my golf game!

6800 is about the shortest I will see and only one or two of those a year. Most are in the 7100 to 7500 yard range. Although we will be playing at Kinderlou Forest this year. It is a DLIII course in Valdosta, GA. It is a monster. Just under 7800 yards. 240 yd par 3, 566 yd par 4, and a 656yd par 5. Thats pretty long.

The 566 yard par 4 probably plays down hill but that is not the point- that is stupid long. the par 5 i am mute too but par 4's over 470ish are just wrong. i will play them but my opinion is make that fairway 19 yards wide at its max instead of making hit driver 2 iron or possibly even 3 wood into the green.

I like playing from 6,500 to 7,100 yards. Over that and I begin to strugle. I don't like courses that you have to hit driver of every par 4. I much prefer a dogleg here where you can hit hybrid/2 iron or a short tight par 4 etc.

i look at the slope. my ball park golf is we shoot for 6000 to 6400 tops. really hard courses i have no shame or lack of pride in moving up to the whites... or what do they say??? if you don't break 90, move up? I guess slope is key for me, if it is more than 133 i guess i move up...

i suck, i should be better by now but i have an 8 month old and a wife who loves to golf too.

Most of what I play now is like 6900 to 7100. The 6400 something track is the one I grew up on. Many trees and very tight. I have to hit Irons on most of the holes on the front. But all in all it is pretty tuff for a weekend golfer. Record is only 66 and I think Steve Flesch holds that with a few others.
