Trying to quit........but RedSeal Long Cut Wintergreen. $2 a can. Cans are bigger too.

Qutting was definitely tough, and if I've got a long car ride (3 hours +) then I might grab a pouch, but now dip really freaks me out. Chew on the other hand, I can stand.

During my many years of Baseball in Sr. Babe, Div I, up to Farm Ball I always had a can of Cope or a pouch of Redman not to mention a few Bag's of David Sunflower seeds. Spittin' was an important part of a players career. You did not want to get caught without it when It came to punishing teammates who happened to commit the BIG "E" or otherwise known as ERRORS! I dipped Copenhagen for the better part of 10 years until I quit and have never had a dip in my mouth since then (almost 9 years). Worst habbit I ever had and don't miss it one bit.

I am glad to see this thread is free but for one pious individual.

 

I am more offended by men buying golf clubs with wife bucks and lying to their wives than using tobacco.

Which makes it illegal right? If you cant buy it you cant use it. At least i know the USA has under age tobacco possesion laws trust me i know and that wast 5 yrs ago.

Then why do kids get tickets written for dip in their possession? I agree that many kids do it but I don't think it sets a good example to put it on a public board that would I hope want to shy away from promoting underage tobacco use.

No worries, the discrepancies between laws in different countries can be confusing. It's simply a little bump in the road we have to deal with while visiting together on a multi-national platform like GolfWRX. It's still a worthwhile subject of discussion for people of legal age in their respective municipalities.

No offense taken. If anything, I'm usually the offender and not the offendee.

 

Having gone through a few teenagers growing up, the one thing that was clearly obvious was that you cannot even THINK of condoning anything that they do if it's illegal, immoral, or unethical. Any sign of acceptance on the part of the adult, and the kids will graduate to the next step, be it weed, booze, drugs, whoring, etc. Life is fun when you are a kid. Enjoy it and don't grow up too quickly. Being an adult means you take on too many responsibilities and it's not worth growing up too quickly just to have tobacco and alcohol.

 

Now that I'm done with my parental speech, let me offer the Juniors some advice:

 

Don't smoke. If you have to smoke, wait until you are 18.

Don't drink until you're 21.

Don't drink and drive

Don't do drugs.

Use condoms.

 

Take that time that you would have spent smoking/drinking/getting stoned and play golf instead.

 

Sorry to be the killjoy, but when there are 4 juniors in a thread that's talking about a product that is illegal for them to purchase or use, I don't feel that it should be condoned in any way by this site or the membership.
