As for those you listed ... 1.. Barefoot Pete Dye ....2 Witch ... 3 Man o War ......As for reviews ... i played the Dye course at Barefoot landing when it first opened and he took a flat piece of land and did a great job but i do know people that thought it was only okay and that the Davis Love design at the same venue was a better design , as they say beauty is in the eye of the beholder .....as for the Witch ..i have played that course i bet 15 times and it was always in great shape , offered challenges and just fun to play , on some holes a straight drive is a must or your ball will find marsh , trees , seashells or water , also there are gators and if you wonder off looking for balls near marshes have a club and be aware as a snake might be lurking .... as for Man o War .. it's was okay .. but i never liked it.....sorry for a lame review on the last course but i don't want to ruin it for you if you decide to go there

Witch is a super under valued course that is big on returns. Awesome course with no homes. Man O War is a great first round course straight forward with lots of nice holes and great conditions. I would drop Dye and Add the Wizard then you can get the discount for playing the Mystic 3 some. Wizard is like Man o War without the water.

You might be a little disappointed if you play the three courses in the order you've listed them in the thread title. Dye Club is head, shoulders knees and toes above the other two, I think, with The Witch being superior to Man O'War. Man O'War has bentgrass greens still, and since we're now in the hot part of the year, expect them to look a little worn out and putt fairly slow. The other two courses will be better.

The Dye Club is probably my second-favorite of all the courses down here--and I've played all the good ones over the years. But there are people out there who don't like Pete Dye who would call me crazy.

Enjoy.

Sorry ... but imho... Wizard is NOT close to the same as the Dye course ... if you want something different than Dye at Barefoot Resort .. then maybe the Palmer course at Myrtle Beach National might interest you or you could head about a 1/2 hour south of the airport in the Pawley's Island area and look at Caledonia , True Blue and or one of my favorites Heritage Club or closer to central Myrtle there is the 3 course complex that offers links style courses which for the life of me i cant remember the name but the course's name are .....Moreland....Parkland and Heathland ... they are also fun to play and offer challenges to stress your game also .. you can't go wrong with any of them

I was in Myrtle Beach last week. Played the Witch. I played it once about 5 years ago and decided to try again because the first experience was so awesome. Its a really fun course, however, they just received record amounts of rain earlier in the week that I was there. The course was soggy and flooded in many areas. Cart path only on the front and 90* on the back 9. Might be ok by now but just wanted to let you know. One of the holes was in terrible shape. I don't recall the number but it was a par 3 that was totally secluded by woods on the back 9 I believe. I think it got too wet and then baked in the sun since there is no wind or breeze on the ground.

Like someone mentioned above, beware of gators and snakes and bring some bug spray (I got stung by a black wasp). We saw 3 snakes and about 10-15 small gators during our round.

We teed off around 11am on Friday July 5th and the round was a little more than 5 hours long. We waited on pretty much every hole. We were a 3some that was on top of a 2some that was pretty slow. On some holes the 2some in front of us was waiting on the group ahead of them. No rangers during the entire round and when we said something to the pro shop at the turn, no one was even close to being helpful. Also, the girl in the snack shop was not the nicest of people either. It's a shame because the course has such great character and is fun to play but the staff and slow play just ruined it for us.

Just my opinion. Hope you have a great time wherever you choose to play!

I didn't say it was the same i said for the discount. All depends on money he wants to spend on a round.
