TM 2005 RAC TP CB Lefty by Miura??

Hello,

 

I know that there have been numerous discussions on these lefty 2005 RAC TP CB irons but I need some clarification as I am looking into a set. My questions are,

 

1. Are all lefty RAC TPs Miura forged? Btw, the set I'm looking does not say 'Forged' above the cavity.

2. What is the difference between different finishes - for example, satin vs chrome / swirl marks on the face vs non?

3. Are these heads lighter compared to other tour heads?

4. What would be the good price on a new/used set?

5. How many sets were actually made? I hear anywhere from 5 to 35.

6. Were these actually made for Mike Weir? I've seen Mike's RAC TPs and they look much different with bulky shape and tons of offset.

7. If you own a set, what do you like/dislike about them?

 

This will be an expensive investment so I wanted to check my facts before I pulled the trigger.

I've got a set of right handed. From my recollection, only the satin heads were miura forged. They are the nicest irons I've ever hit by taylormade. I have not purchased another TM set since. I think $300 is a fair ballpark for a 8.5+ set.
They are pretty forgiving too. More of a solid feel at impact, I notice the same feeling in my miura tournament blades. I know my set is still in fantastic shape, outside of a little bag chatter, they look almost new still 8 years later. If I do ever sell them I'd price them around $325 obo. I'd have no problem throwing them in the bag still today.
Hopefully someone else will chime in with your "lefty" specific questions. I don't think you'd regret picking up a set if they're priced right.

Thanks for your comment. However, I think that the lefthanded sets are a bit different since it was never introduced to public and there are a very small number of sets made....

Can anyone comment on the lefthanded set?

You might want to PM golow. I believe he's had every set made in left hand!
