Has anyone else been to this place? I went today and i really liked it and got some really good feedback from their launch monitors. I have yet to play a course but it looked like a fun thing to do it the weather is bad.

* It's very, very nicely done. Wonderful interior, many TV's, great putting green, clubmaking facility, restaurant/grill, launch monitors and the like. A golf tekkie haven. It appears like a really cool place to just hang out and enjoy indoor golf when the weather is bad.

 

* Expen$ive. Simulator fees are $40 per person is a completely ridiculous price to play simulated golf. I find this insane.

 

* Inaccurate - Some of those simulators are horribly inaccurate and completely worthless. I was in there the other day, showing my drives were 170 yards. This was after I just came back from the range, carrying the ball 240 yards. ????? I was also demoing a few holes, and it was near impossible to hit punch-outs, sand shots, and other specialty shots. I found the experience very frustrating.

 

* The "Video Locker" feature is interesting. A friend of mine did this, and it shows online images of your swing that you can analyze later. A nice feature if you analyze your own swing. The Practice bay fees are $50 per hour, which seems steep to me.

 

* Their clubfitter seems to have a mind of his own. He poo-poos most other equipment, and I'm not impressed with his flexibility nor his ability to listen to outside information. Having said that - he's only 1 guy, and as you know - everyone has their own opinions.

 

* I NEVER thought this place would succeed. It seems silly to pay $40-$50 to get on a launch monitor or a horribly inaccurate simulator when I can play golf outdoors for less money. However - I see cars there all the time, and it appears to be flourishing.

 

In short - it's a neat facility, but I rarely go in there. I hate simulators anyway, and their launch monitors are too expensive. I can wander by the PGA Superstore in Plano and they allow you on their launch monitors for FREE to test clubs. What use is this place?
