Going to Hawaii (Maui & Oahu) - How to bring clubs & where to play?

I've already read through the other Maui, thread but decided to make my own since I'm going to Oahu as well. I will be in Maui for six days and Oahu five days.

 

My first question is can I bring my clubs on the plane as a carry on? I haven't traveled in a while, but if I'm remembering correctly the clubs would be well over the size limit for a carry on (I was planning to purchase a travel case). I would prefer to bring my clubs as opposed to renting, but am very paranoid about having my clubs stolen or broken especially considering their value. I've done some searching, and have noticed that the majority of people are checking their bags through the airline and the TSA tends to always go through your stuff.

 

Also, any course recommendations? I'm planning to play at least once in Maui and once in Oahu.

clubs would be to big to big for carry on. I never had any club issues traveling inter island when I lived there.

Maui: Kapalua Plantation just because of the name plus it is a great course.

Oahu: I would play either Kapolei, Ko Olua, Turtle Bay Palmer course, or Ewa Beach. My favorite no military courses on the island. You might be able to play the Klipper if the club house will help you out.

Bring your clubs in a travel bag. You know me and i bring my clubs everywhere and have never run into a issue.

Awesome, thanks for the recommendations. I'll probably call tomorrow to figure out rates and times.

Kapalua.

No issues traveling long distances with multiple stop overs with clubs. A good quality travel case plus wrapping club heads in bubble wrap (what I do) definitely helps. I hate rental sets...bring your bag!
