I need it shorter

The wife got me a new Circa 62 putter for my birthday (gotta love her). Anyway, being 5'7" I need something shorter than 35". On the SC website it says they will shorten a half inch if I send it in. However I'd like to get it to at least 34". Will they do that? This will be the only way I keep it. If they won't do it due to it screwing up the balance, I am not going to have it done by someone else- I will have to return it. Any other advice? I want to keep it badly.... Thanks!

Asian models offer 350g and 34 inches (IIRC on length). Do what I did, cut the putter down and add lead tape on the sole. This will protect the sole against scratches at the very least but offer the weight you will want. Circas are great feeling putters.

cut it down and hit a few putts with it. You might actually like it that way.

If you don't like it have a little bit of tungsten powder put down the shaft. It will bring the weight back up (actually can more if you want) and you won't see anything different. I have a circa 62 and couldn't bear myself to put a strip on lead tape on it so tungsten powder it was.

Do you find that there is vibration after adding the tungsten? I had a local clubfitter add something inside the shaft and it vibrated like crazy so I had to stay with the tape. What did you use to hold the powder in?

On my Scotty - I removed the head and added a 10gr brass plug. Worked great.

Tungsten powder down the shaft, lead tape on the sole. If that doesn't work, add butt weight (Balanced certified), or get your hands on an Asian model Circa #3 with 350g headweight.
