New Stand Bag

I just got a Black/Silver 2007 Grom last week. While I have not used it on course yet, it seems very well built and thought out. I got it to replace my 6 year old Callaway Daytripper ( which I now decided is an early Grom) that still looks great.

 

I think I'm going to like the Woode system even though there's no way to easily put four woods in the four individual slots. I ended up with Driver in the top, skip one, 3W,5W.

 

I'm sure I'm going like the tourque strap.

 

As far as weight it doesn't matter because I still have my X66.

 

May cause me to finally post a WITB when I take some pictures.

There is no bag that does double duty well --

 

I'd suggest a Sun Mountain Speed Cart Deluxe for Cart Use -- I found a 2006 on sale at GG for $89.

 

Then I'd suggest a Titleist X66 ? last year's 4 lb model made by Sun Mountain but with better straps. Personally, I'd get the Sun Mountain 3.5 SL with HUG for a carry bag -- in fact, I did. I just picked mine up at the store!

 

But if you want to save money -- I'd get a SM SCB Deluxe (separate dividers for each club) -- the 2006 bag and the year old lite carry bag like the Titleist X66 or SM 3.5 SL or Ping Craze Lite -- although the old versions don't have a water bottle net. The 2007 versions do.

I am liking the new titleist bags...they are very sturdy with their legs!

A while ago I stumbled across a Sun Mountain Glacier bag. I use it almost exclusively as a carry bag, but when carts are a must, it works like a charm. Only recently I have found out it is designed as a cart bag that can be carried as well. **shrug**

I agree on the Titleist bags. I love em!! Last year I was using the top-line x67 but wanted to lighten the load a bit. So this year I bought the x78 which weighs a pound less (5 vs. 6 lbs). I love this bag!! It's just a great, no nonsense, quality carry bag. In fact, I liked it so much I just bought another one.....(why? because I'm crazy and love stand bags...) first one was all black but I really liked the Red & Navy too. So...yeah, now have both!! LOL!! :russian_roulette:

Sun Mountain Lightning. I'm 6'4" and walk 95% of the time I play. It was one of the few bags where the strap system fit me comfortably. I also like the roller top for handling the bag. It is almost 3 years old and showing very liitle wear. I average 2-3 walking rounds per week so it has been used at least 300+ rounds. My next bag will definitely be another SM...either another Lightning or maybe the Superlight 3.5 (if it only had the roller top).

Ditto that. I've tried a lot of carry bags and I like the Titleist bags the best. The strap system and materials are much nicer than their Sun Mountain counterparts. The X76 is particularly nice, same as the SM 3.5 and just a great bag if you carry a lot. For double duty the X77 is a good choice.

I have a Callaway XTT ultralite, light weight and great comfortable straps. I occasionally put it on a cart, no worries.

I just picked up an XTT Xtra-Lite from Callaway. Went with it over a Titleist simply because of the pocket layout. I am a little concerned about the straps, but obviously, not enough to sway me over to Titleist.

 

Ok, the fact that the bag is white also pulled me over to Callaway as opposed to Titleist. I love white bags.

The Ogio Edge is a wonderful bag. Check out ebay and pick up a 06 verison for under 80 dollars.

I really want that puma stand bag. That titelist is awsome. You can get that on ebay for 265 shipped if you really want it.
