what is the deal with the blue tour and 90 gram. How are these shafts? I am looking into getting a blue for my fairways but i dont want an ultra low launching shaft, so should i go with the tour x or the 90 stiff or the normal x? Also my ss is between 110-112 so would the tour shaft in x be alright for me? thanks

I had one in a 3W briefly and it was bascically the stiffest, boardiest shaft I've ever felt in my life. Can CPM's go over 300? It felt like a 280cpm tipped about 3 inches, lol. If I kept my bag in my trunk I suppose I could have used my 3W if I needed a breakerbar to get lug nuts off to change a spare. OK, that's enough, it's stiffer than stiff and the stiffest thing I've ever hit, that's all I know of it. If it's what your after, they should be able to found cheap enough to try anyway.

I couldn't really compare it to the 65-S Blue driver shaft since it was so long between having the 2. Sounds like you'd know better Grum. I only hit each club a few dozen times at the range before selling them. The 65-S Blue was in an R7425 and I couldn't load it properly with a SS of 109. It was stiffer than a 757 X IMO.

My swing goes from 105-110 on any given day really. I had a 70X in my hibore XL and I could load it well. Granted, the XL is a touch head heavy, but it was never even close to being too stiff. The 70S was excellent in the 904F. The tour model has a softer overall profile, but launches lower, more feel than boardieness. That probably comes from the torque values though. Good shafts for dirt cheap IMO

I'm planning on getting a 70 S tour and was wondering what cpms it would play in a Sumo head. My SS is 115 and load the shaft well I had a V2 75 gram S that felt soft and loose at impact. I want the feel of a weak X. Should I just tip the 70 S 1" or get an X and not tip it since some of you said it plays softer. I want the cpms in the 270's. thanks

I would say it depends on your swing. I play a TOUR90X in my 3 wood and it does everything I need it do. It does not feel boardy one bit, but I'm a 757x lover. I'm probably at 105-110 ss, a hitter, and I have a steep swing.
The only thing I don't like is the weight. It's too heavy for me. I lose distance but I'm ALWAYS in the fairway with it. I'd like to be able to take a better rip at it. An 80g shaft would be better for ME in a fw.
I play a Blue x in my driver and the only thing I don't like about it is that it's a tad too light. Need at least 70g's in my driver to maintain the control I like.

I'm with grum.

The Blue Tour is a very different animal to the Blue. Much softer in feel and stiffness.

The Blue is a stout shaft, to be sure, but I love it (I play one in my driver) and don't find it boardy at all, contrary to what many say. I actually think it's quite 'lively' for a very stout and stiff shaft.

Go figure.
