New For 2008

OK so I installed this new MD-6 in my FT-5T to give her a run and all I can say is WOW!!!! This is without question the finest Graphite Design product I've experienced to date. For those of you who think GD is soft to flex or ball flight is to high this one is for you. Superior feel with a very tight tip and controls trajectory very nicely but still maintains low to medium spin and a laser tight shot dispersion. I would do a complete review of this setup but this 9.5* FT-5T is simply to open and flat for me so I'm looking to trade or sell her for a 10.5* FT-5 LCG head to setup with another MD-6. If my memory serves me correctly this shaft was developed as an answer to the players who liked Quattrotech but wanted a tighter shot dispersion and lower launch and spin. Another cool benefit is she has the sickest metallic blue paint job around! I'm going to step out on a limb and say this might be one of my favorite shafts of all time; well done Graphite Design!! ;)
Oh yeah; it came in at D4/44.5*/258cpm's....plays much tighter than the number trust me!

:) As I have stated before, you get what you pay for with GDI Shafts.

For those of you that know a little about Japanese Graphite Shaft Manufacturers, take a look a the recent stats from last week's GATE WAY YOMIURI OPEN in JAPAN for graphite shafts in play:

Now many of you may say we are not in Japan. Graphite Design shafts are GLOBAL baby! This is the first year any TOUR AD shafts have been brought to the US PGA TOUR. Yes they are pricey. Does Mercedes Benz sell their cars at YUGO prices? No, I don't think so. Just like the TOUR AD shafts, you gotta earn your stripes...

I have the MD6 S in my ft5 9.5 and it is just great. It is a little stiffer than my usual standard stiff because it is in the no hosel callaway head but dispersion is great. I also tried md6 on epon af101 and it feels smooth and easy to swing with tight dispersion, mid-high trajectory and med spin. One good thing, maybe a bad thing for others, is that it reduces side spin alot. So, in general, straighter shots with the md6. Their tour ad utility shaft is one of the best shafts I have ever got to play. Btw, I would think of GD md6 to be more of a bmw than a mb.

I put this in my R7 SQ TP and absolutely love it. Came out of a D2 with an Ozik Altus LT and this new combo is far superior. The shaft is hard to find and expensive when you but well worth the hunt. Haven't even thought of another driver combo in over two months - and that never happens!

I love the Graphite Design Quattrotech MD7x in my 3W and the Rombax 7Z08 in my driver. I'll get another GD for my 5W as soon as I can find one. They aren't well known in the US . . . yet.
