Arm-lockers who gave up

because you couldn’t properly stabilize the grip against your forearm....

I have a Scotty arm lock and the only grip my local store had when I had them bend it was a 15” Winn. Well I could never properly stabilize it to my arm thus defeating the purpose of a SBST stroke. Well I decided to buy one of those flat Jumbo Max grips and they are well worth the money. Fits perfectly against your arm and didn’t really try and slide off since it is much larger than the Winn. Plus it’s 17” so you have a little extra room to grip down the shaft if needed.

I bought the jumbomax as well and it’s well worth the money. I go back and forth arm locking and conventional putting

I swapped the Winn grip that comes standard on the Odyssey Arm Lock putters for a Rosemark 17-inch grip. Definitely a huuuge upgrade. Personally, I need a little thicker of a grip to get the butt end of the putter to really lock in on my forearm without needing to feel like I'm pushing the club into my arm. The Rosemark just sits on my arm without needing to do anything forceful.

The only downside is that the Rosemark definitely seems like it's going to wear out fairly fast from taking it in and out of the bag. I already have a backup ready to go for whenever that happens, but will probably give the Jumbomax a look as well.

Put your left index finger down the side of the grip and push into the grip with this finger. Don't move anything other than rocking your shoulders. Putter shaft won't come off of your arm. I've got a buddy who flips his hands around impact and could never keep the shaft on his arm. I took a couple velcro strips and wrapped the putter shaft to his am. He finally felt what it is like to stop flipping his hands and only move the putter head by rocking his shoulders.

And I definitely agree with what the others have stated. The skinny grips are awful. Jumbo Max is the way to go, way more stable.

I tried it for a while several years ago and again recently but I just cannot consistently line the putter up properly.
