Is it worth switching?

Let me start by giving a bit of background here. I'm about a 5hdcp with a driver SS around 112~mph. Mizuno shaft optimizer fit me into KBS Tour X for my irons.

I currently play a 2017 M1 440 Tour Issue with a HZRDUS Yellow 65s and a 2016 M2 deepface 17.4* with a HZRDUS Yellow 75x.

I hit both relatively well with the one exception being that I don't feel super confident going 100% with my driver. I can get a bit errant and spinny when I really put full effort in.

The only issue I have with the FW is that I'd like to get closer to 14.5-15.5* if possible.

So, I'm wondering if I should just put a new shaft in the driver? Should I look into newer models? Are there any FW heads that have the same feel/distance or similar to the M2? I feel like I found a gem in that particular clubhead.

Open to any and all recommendations. Thanks!

Ps sorry for any typos. Phone keyboards are wonky.

I would say yes if you're having trust issues going after the driver. If you have no issues with the 75x in your fairway wood, then it shouldn't be an issue going that route with your driver. It'll help a bit with dispersion and spin compared to the Stiff flex that is already in there.

As for the fairway wood loft, that's going to depend on what you're needing it for based on the length of the courses you play, and how firm they are. If it's for off the tee, then dropping loft would make sense, but if it's mainly off the deck, the higher lofted fairway wood should hold greens better. At your swing speed, the lower lofted fairway wood shouldn't be an issue elevating, assuming you're striking it properly.

Driver, yah try a heavier stiffer shaft. Help with strike, which will help with spin.

the Fw wood. I would leave it. I am 122mph with the driver and I just got rid of my m2 deep face 14.5 3w. Just low rockets. Going to a HL head. Can hit it just as far but will be mostly carry, which is what I want. Carry out there land and stop at a certain yardage. If I want it to run out there I will just hit driver. Leave the fairway wood as is. Once you find a good fairway you are confident in, play it till it breaks..

This for sure. I definitely agree with moving to X for the driver. Though I can’t help but think the 440 head maybe be a little unforgiving. Might want to try an M5 if you like TM or otherwise lots of good options from the other big OEMS.

If you like the head, lots of X options to bring down the spin when you swing hard with the driver. If you are like most on here, it is hard to swing easy with the driver as we all want to pound one. I have the same issues and a little more SS and benefit from a stiffer low launch shaft.

I really like the feel of the head. I came from a 2016 M2 and previously a 913D3 (loved, but very spinny at times at much shorter on pure'd shots than either TM driver) to the M1 and while I do really like this head, I'm always open to other options. I am hoping this HZRDUS Black works well because I love the feel of the Yellow, just not necessarily the results. What are your feelings on 75g vs 63-65g when they're both XS profile? Also, any particular heads that you'd recommend trying out?

when I decided on the yellow, I put it in many heads (including TS1, M1, M3, Epic, EPIC SZ) I ended up with the Sub Zero 9*. (recently replaced it with Flash Sub Z) plenty of launch and no spin. When I went to T1100, the numbers only got better. Only diff I found for me between 65-75 is when I am tired, sometimes I lose the 75 left (I am left handed) but I will take that all day. I have fought a draw/hook my whole life. This shaft takes right out of play for me, which is a huge win. I am actually looking now for a T1100 with a heavier profile for my 5 wood. Right now I am T1100 in driver, 3w and yellow in the 5 wood.
