any news on PGA Canada events?

i am curious.......

it seems obvious that the first few events would be delayed........ 1) same time frame as pga tour events that were delayed/cancelled, 2) tour qualifying hasn't finished yet, 3) arguably easy to reschedule these events (numerical logistics, lots of open spots on the calendar..................... and of course, now i realize the USA/Canada border may not be open by that point.

anyway, after stating the obvious............. has there been any communication from PGA that canadian events are postponed/cancelled? i haven't seen anything.

The Mackenzie Tour–PGA Tour Canada is postponing the first six scheduled events of its 2020 season as part of revised schedules released Thursday by the PGA Tour.

The tournaments affected are the Canada Life Open in Vancouver (May 28-31), the DCBank Open in Victoria (June 4-7), the GolfBC Championship in Kelowna, B.C. (June 11-14), the Lethbridge Paradise Canyon Open in Lethbridge, Alta., (June 25-28), the Prince Edward Island Pro-Am in Cardigan, PEI (July 2-5) and the Osprey Valley Open outside Toronto, in Caledon (July 9-12).

The Mackenzie Tour expects to make more announcements in the next couple weeks with additional information about the 2020 schedule, as well as Qualifying Tournament sites and dates.

if the whole tour is cancelled (good possibility), i wonder if pga tour will come up with some more replacement qualifying for KF.......

A lot of careers are going to be finished once this is over. There will be no promotion to the KFT this year from China/Canada/Latin America as our season is going to become a "wrap around" type season where the points from this season and next will count towards PGA tour cards in September of 2021.

There will apparently be no type of Q school this year for KFT, so again a lot of careers (I think) will take a hit on this and be finished.

I can't imagine a scenario where the tour returns this year in a meaningful fashion unless the travel restrictions are lifted.

Yeah, i feel bad for the guys on the fringes who had legit shots at the tour (or even ones who didnt and were grinding out a living). They're gonna have to burn through any money they had this year just to live.

I imagine next year, working an office job will seem more appealing. Or necessary
