An early Father’s Day gift - new clubs for my dad that he doesn’t know about yet

My mom and dad used to golf, ride bikes, play tennis, and be generally active before I was born. After that... not so much lol.

I want to help get my dad back in shape and mentioned that since his job has him near my wife and I’s house he should join me for golf maybe once a week after work. He thought it was a good idea and that he may have to get some new clubs. He still has and occasionally uses his clubs from the early 90s. A set of Northwesterns and Knight woods.

Well, jokes on him, because I got him new clubs instead! He’s gonna get them this weekend and I’m gonna try to get him out for a round on Saturday. Now, here’s my dad’s secret WITB

I had the wedge set, putter, and bag already, but got him a driver, hybrid, and irons. They’re obviously not brand new, but they should be a huge improvement over what he has and better than him going blindly and buying himself new clubs. The graphite in the irons should work well for him and I’d imagine he’s going to get a little more distance out of a modern driver!

I can’t begin to explain how excited I am to give them to him.

That's an awesome gift for a Dad. I'm sure they will mean so much more than you could know. To have them to tee off on his first round back with his son... Priceless.

That's awesome. Last year I bought my dad a used but in great condition PING G SFT driver, this year I got him a full set of original cleveland hibore hybrid irons and a 56° cleveland cbx SW for Father's day. Of course I couldn't wait so it was an early present ?

His bag is set for years to come and a major upgrade over the clubs he's had for 20 years. It's definitely sparked his love for the game and hopefully we can play a few rounds soon once courses start to open up.
