Tiger Slam Era Bag Build

Not sure if this qualifies as classic equipment yet, but I’ve been piecing together a Tiger Slam golf bag build. Specifically based on his 2001 Masters win.

I’d like some opinions from all of you fellow collectors and equipment junkies on the best putter and golf bag options to pair with this set up.

The tiger slam replica putters are likely 10-20k+, and the Buick golf bags are too expensive for how dated they appear (but would be amazing to complete this build).

I’ve acquired the T stamp blades 2-pw that will be refinished/rebuilt with The Iron Factory, the correct color/loft 970 fairway wood in amazing condition, and a brand new 975D 7.5* driver. I’ve even found a couple dozen new Nike TW balls to complete the set up 

Any leads/help finding a new X100 driver shaft would be a huge help!!! It’s been more of a challenge than expected.

Nice find on the 970 series 3W. From memory I think his SW was a 58.08 bent to 56.06. LW was 60.06.

You are right. Ive got other wedges that match being refinished with the T blades. Between the WRX article recently and previous entries about his specs, this set up should turn out to be a nice replica set.

Just Curious are you going to play them or display them? I was wondering if he had the Buick Bag then? Yep those old UST Pro Force Golds you have in a couple of those sticks were great shafts. That was my shaft when I could swing one. One suggestion and please do not take me wrong. If I had to I would get a plain black Vessel Staff bag, that get up does not look right in a PXG bag. Had a chance the other week to get a used black PXG staff bag I declined. Not because I have anything against Bob Parsons or PXG but I thought even for me a set of battered lead taped Macgregors would not look quite right in it. I did call my bud Bear because he does have a set of PXG irons but he does not like staff bags he likes more modern cart bags. So I passed on that deal. The guy who had it had early on went the full PXG route and then decided they did not work for him. He sold the clubs and no one wanted the bag

Yes he did use the Buick bag during the Tiger slam. that’s the ultimate find if I can get one at a decent price some day.

I have the 2-PW 681T and 2 sets of 681 irons. The T set will be fully refinished.

i will be playing the 681 sets off and on. PXG is my main set of clubs. Only storing the Titleist clubs in that staff bag until I decide on which bag they will be put in.

With regard to the putter do you want a Scotty Cameron or a putter that more closely resembles Tiger's? If Cameron, I would recommend a 330 gram head Studio Stainless Newport 2. They can be had cheap and pretty closely resemble the shape of Tiger's putter. See below pics.

The pro platinum Newport 2 is also an option. It’s nickel plated carbon steel, not stainless like Tiger’s but it looks like it’s stainless.
